This a lovely family run guest house in central Trou d’Eau Douce. They take time to talk to their guests and can help with organising day trips and providing information about the local area. My room was a good size with a big balcony and very clean. There was a small kitchen area. Breakfast was also good, a basket of bread and pastries with jam and a piece of fruit, as well as scrambled eggs and sausage.
It is on the main road so there is some noise, mostly the local animals, but this is part of staying in Mauritius away from the resorts. There is a small beach in town but Belle Mare is only a fifteen minute drive away. Supermarket and restaurants are within a five minute walk.
SM Lodge offers accommodation in Trou d’ Eau Douce. The guest house has a sun terrace and views of the sea, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar.

The room was clean and very spacious. We had a lot of space, a big bathroom with hot water and the best beds on the island ;-) they also have a nice terrasse with Oceanview and the Breakfast looked really nice (have to pay extra). The staff was also really nice and helpful and gave us recommendation for trips and the restaurants in the area.

Beautiful beaches , museum and church , amazing restaurants ( coins casse croute, Kim boulette), thale waterfront on Sunday & Monday market really different each days but awesome.

The is an exceptional accommodation with everything one needs for any length of stay. The host is extremely helpful and there is off street parking. I highly recommend this apartment. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is small but way beyond about the expectations. Service, food and the attitude is more than 4 stars. Location is "quiet" but sometimes you need the place where you have detachd about the world. Food is overall better than one can expect and the variety is goof enough. If have to compare to 5 stars hotels this hotel will be at the same line with those but it is small (maybe boutique hotel). Have to love it
