The location and the staff were great. Food was also good but I like that the host offers a tour to nearby caves which is worth the effort if you have time. I think the €20 cost was excessive. Maybe it’s cheaper if there is more than one person?

Just the most lovely host ever, who did everything possible to make my stay comfy and wonderful. Extra blankets, exra pillows— I was working a lot while I was there, and he was constantly bringing me tea and snacks to the garden and moving the wifi around so I had access. I was so sad to leave, it felt like a home and they felt like a family. The house itself is an old rambling home that's crumbling a bit, but architecturally stunning with beautiful touches. The whole thing has an old world charm to it, that I found so lovely, protective and soothing. Even in winter, the gardens were wonderful. I will miss you so much and thank you for everything! I will be back.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
