There is a very nice family keeps this place. We arrived rather late and they already started to search for us over the messages and gave us cold coconut juice upon arrival. We felt very comfortable all the time to contact the family.
We spent 2 days in this location and afterwards prolongated our stay till the end of our vacation.
We got excellent breakfast every day and it was different from day to day. Everything was very tasty and nourishing.
Our room was big with good AC, big bathroom with hot water, big bed and refrigerator. The breakfast was set in the street.
2 big towels were provided.
If you need room cleaning - inform the house owner about this.
The location is great - 5 min walk to the beach for locals, 10 min walk to the Fish market with fresh sea food restaurants and 20 min walk to the Bus Stand and main street.
Not too many tourists visited this part of the beach, so it was very interesting experience to swim in the ocean all alone. There were no waves in the early morning the most part of our stay, but during the day they usually became bigger, so you should be very careful while swimming, because the water is very strong and able to take you to the deep.
The beach is mainly for locals and they don't pay a lot of attention to the garbage on the beach, but it was not very comfortable for us, so better to use the coral slippers to walk on the beach and swim. There was no garbage in the water, but some stones/coconuts/branches can be found. There few sunbeds stand on the beach and there is a guy, who cleans the beach in few meters from these sunbeds and collect some tips if you want to use them. Be careful with your belongings - don't leave anything w/o you attention - somebody stole our slippers and not only ours.
If you are looking for the surfing - the main activity is located in front of the Mariott Hotel (the highest building).

The breakfast each morning was great and had really healthy options. The location is perfect and is around 200m from a quiet beach. The property itself was always very clean and was nice to come back to after a long day. Anke the host was very welcoming and had lots of information on what to do in the local area and where to eat etc.

A great hostel with a great location. Not far from the bus station or beach. There always some activity and a WhatsApp group to make it easier. Common area is really nice and easy to meet people. Nice with a kitchen as well!
Great little guesthouse, tucked away just a hundred metres from the main street, but without much noise disturbance off it. Coconut point / beach 3-5 min walking distance, friendly little restaurants in the neighbourhood. Basic but functional and clean rooms (good fan + mosquito net) with a little outdoor area + kitchen to prepare some simple foods / coffee etc. Lovely hosts, who are always ready to help and assist u with any questions, (cheap) laundry, etc. Great value for money, will come back when in the area next time ❤️

Namal's was one of the best guesthouses we've stayed in in Sri Lanka. Very comfortable stay, private, quiet, and the most incredible rooftop overlooking Weligama. It was so rewarding to watch the sunrises and sunsets from here. And Namal has to be the kindest and most welcoming host! He really takes care of his place and the people that pass through. We will definitely be returning on our next trip!
Also, bonus points for a water filter open to everyone to use- more places should do this to reduce plastic water bottle waste!
Perfectly located guesthouse, across the road is the beach and surf. 2 min walk to the beach road restaurants. Very friendly host, cheap and cheerful room. Separate kitchen and fridge. Laundry can also be done here. I booked for 2 nights ended up staying for 6
Lawrence Villa is of very good quality combined with a great location. The room is very big and you have a separate kitchen to prepare food in. The apartment is very quiet and perfect for someone who is looking for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was very delicious and big consisting of fresh fruit and tasty local dishes. The garden is very beautiful and relaxing with many different kind of trees, flowers and birds. I highly recommend this place and will stay here again when visiting Weligama.
I love this charming little gem nestled between mango trees and coconut palms, jumping monkeys amd beautiful peacocks. Peaceful, very quiet, just the sound of nature. Perfect to rest, relax or work without distraction (hispeed wifi). Beach and surf walking distance, 10 minutes to Weligama by Tuktuk.
This guesthouse reopened recently by Chandan, such a lovely and caring host. I am happy to stay a bit longer to help him with planting the new garden.
