What a lovely warm welcome. Dunisha not only runs a wonderfully positioned hotel (right beside a river with wild monkeys passing through each morning) but he cooks too! The food he made for us was personalised, creative and delicious. Very delicious! Our room was very comfortable and anything we wanted he was happy to provide. If we passed through the area again, we'd definitely stay there. Very affordable accommodation and cheap but exceptional dinner. Great value for money!

Very nice view on the elephants in the morning. Host is perfect. Very kind, happy and friendly. He took us to the river to see and touch elephants for FREE even before they open so we saved a lot of money. He also took us to his brothers restaurant for a dinner, that was very nice.

It's a very very charming boutique hotel. It has an Italian design. The manager speaks good English and knows what hospitality is. He organised everything for us, was genuine interested and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast is also good. And it's easy in this hotel to also meet other travellers (with families). The views from the hotel are stunning, it's a little bit out of the city center but therefore also nice and quiet.

Our host Yamada was really nice and helpful answering our questions - we also really appreciated the notebook in the communal area with big lists of suggestions of places to eat/things to see/taxi numbers for lots of different cities in Sri Lanka that has been made by the host and added to by guests.

The location was perfect, only a 10mon tuktuk ride from the train station and situated in a quiet neighborhood. The room I reserved was quite big and could have accommodated 6 people. But what I appreciated the most was how hospitable Mr. Upul and his wife were. I felt so welcomed and taken care of during my stay and he was able to give me tips on places to see, eat, and how to get to my next destination in Dambulla. I would definitely recommend staying here to my friends and family should they ever get a chance to go to Kandy. I also appreciated the delicious breakfast Mr. Upul's wife cooked and her chicken curry was phenomenal and you get to enjoy it on their patio surrounded by their garden!
