Our recent stay at Ajith’s homestay (AGP Homes) in Nuwara Eliya was, without a doubt, the best homestay experience we’ve ever had. Ajith and his family were exceptional hosts, making us feel as though we were staying with our own family in a warm, welcoming home.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine hospitality and served tea and cookies as a welcome treat. Over drinks, Ajith patiently shared detailed recommendations on the best places to visit in Nuwara Eliya, answered all our questions, and even guided us on transportation options.
The rooms, located on the newly built first floor, were immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped. I’d highly recommend booking these rooms—they come with a balcony offering stunning views of Gregory Lake, Sri Lanka’s highest peak, and the charming Little England cottages. The terrace was another highlight, providing breathtaking sunset views—perfect for enjoying evening tea.
Breakfast, lovingly prepared by Ajith’s wife, was an absolute delight. We were served a generous spread that included eggs, coconut-filled sweet pancakes, coconut roti, dal, fresh fruits, toasted bread, and tea/coffee. Every bite made us feel at home.
The homestay is surrounded by lush greenery, offering a peaceful retreat slightly away from the city center (a quick 10-minute tuk-tuk ride). Gregory Lake is also just a 10-minute walk away.
If you’re visiting Nuwara Eliya, I cannot recommend this place enough. It’s more than just accommodation—it’s an experience filled with warmth, care, and unforgettable memories.

I visited here on November 19th. Very quiet place with beautiful views. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The kitchen was amazing and had everything we needed. The owner Piyumi and her mother were really nice and helpful with everything. Great food. Highly recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for the perfect stay!

Cozy Spacious beautifully decorated room. Had a great 2 night stay and peaceful sleep. Gorgeous view from the balcony. Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner were super delicious and filing. It was so nice of Ramoni to call us the day of arrival and arrange dinner as per our liking. Very considerate as a host. Also, she helped to arrange a tuktuk for a full day Nuwara Eliya tour and early morning drop to Nanu Oya with Kumudhan, the tuktuk driver, who really gave us a very good tour of Nuwara eliya as a whole and made the experience really memorable. They have lovely cats and dogs who gave us company during our stay and made the trip all the more special. Thanks a lot Ramoni and aunty for making us feel at home. We are definitely coming back very soon. :)

It was a very nice and clean place with big beds and Ruchi with his wife are such kindhearted people. They went out of their way to make our stay nice. Breakfast was delicious. Ruchi took us to tea plantation too.

Very friendly family, Subodini is a great host .We had blankets as it was a large change in climate from Aragum bay. Nice lounge area to share and breakfast was really enjoyable. There is a shortcut down to the city centre which was great. A nice walkable town,and friendly locals..Room was very spacious and also hot showers. Very peaceful part of town with great views.
Best bed in Sr Lanka. Very quiet and comfortable “location just a few minutes from the city center. Very comfortable warm shower. No mosquito nets but we brought our own and could attach it to the hook that was available.
WiFi was not stable the time we were there but the host said that was a temporary glitch. All in all very comfortable.

Mark arranged visits to the Hortons Plains and tea factory visits and also the TukTuk to the railway station. Good breakfast. They even packed one for the Hortons plain visit.

It's a very clean and tidy place well located in a quiet neighbourhood walking distance from the Nuwara Eliya bus station. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The host is very kind, friendly and caring. It's very cheap too. All in all one of the best places I've ever stayed in. Cheers
This accommodation is a bit far from the city center so it's not a problem if you like to take a stroll, but it's quite a walk anyway. Other than that, everything was perfect and the view from the corner room was just amazing. Most charming hosts, too.
It was really a great experience! View on the lake and mountains was simply beautiful. Host was very kind and more than helpful, even prepared a really tasty breakfast at 5AM and organized taxi transport to Horton Plains, really went extra mile! Apartment was very clean and quiet. It's few minutes ride from the city center and on the other hand in very quiet neighborhood which is great. There a lot of tuk tuks around, so don't worry:) 100% recommend
