Although this property advertises a restaurant, we were unable to obtain a meal during our 3-day stay. Overall, the communication with our host was very poor. I tried communicating with the whatsapp number provided, but messages didn’t seem to be monitored and I would receive a response 12-24 hours after messaging or not at all. I also tried communicating via booking.com messages, SMS and phone calls, receiving about the same result as with whatsapp messages. Twice we asked for breakfast and were simply told hours later, “sorry, not possible.” Basically, our hosts were mostly absent and there was no customer service. The host even seemed a bit hostile at times, especially at check-in, and we felt like we were just a nuisance and not wanted there.
We went in October, at the end of the Nilaveli Beach tourist season and I assume this had a lot to do with the owner’s attitude towards us. Perhaps he was experiencing financial stress. Whatever the cause, we wished he would have refused our booking so we could have stayed in one of the numerous other guesthouses nearby where our presence would have been appreciated and we would have felt some hospitality and been able to get a meal.
Otherwise, the property itself was fine. It was very clean and a 6 minute walk to the beach as advertised. Our room had very poor ventilation so it was very humid and smelly.
Villa Nilaveli Cabana has 3 cabanas (Villa Nilaveli Cabana Cabanas) which are available for rent. Each Cabana has a king-size bed, air conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito net and an private bathroom.

Great location, right on the beach. Easy walk up the beach to a salty dogs cafe and beach lovers restaurant and bar. Rooms were simple, though were fine for the stay. We ordered pizza delivery from Kitchen Nero one day, and they delivered to our cabana. Was good to mix things up and not walk up the beach for lunch, as we were very content just lazing on the sun loungers. Breakfast is simple and plentiful. 500m walk to the main road for snacks and bottled water. Amal was great in offering to take us further if needed, in his car.

I love the location! It's right on the beach! And during the time we were there, the beach to the left and to the right from the hotel was deserted. There are only a few rooms at the hotel and guests would leave somewhere and at times it felt like we had our own private beach just for two of us! Also having breakfast and dining there is so great, because again your doing it right on the beach, so the scenery and the sounds of waves are perfect. I live how they have us so many different traditional Sri-Lankan side dishes to our order. The bungalows are located far from the main road, so you only hear the sound of waves and nothing else. Very nice owners and staff - they helped us with luggage both during check-in and check-out and did it out of genuine hospitality, not like most places in the world where they help you with luggage and stay there wait for tips. Really great place, very romantic, I hope we'll be able to come back to Sri-Lanka again and stay at these Bungalows!

Great place very near to Nilaveli beach. There are AC and None AC rooms available. Rooms are built with attached bathrooms and more like a small house where two separate rooms are available. It's very suitable for a family. There is a restaurant and these days they don't function. but in the restaurant area there is a separate kitchen to cook your own food. but you have to bring everything. The person who took care of the property is very friendly and helpful. always gives his full support to everything. Overall its a great place for a reasonable price. Hope to visit again when traveling to Trincomalee.

Nice hotel close to the beach with very friendly owner. He look after things well and are very keen to help. Beach is fabulous 🏖️. At the time we visited there was no trash at all. A perfect beach getaway in Trinco. We had an amazing time and it was a truly wonderful experience overall.

Lovely family and perfect location (Nilaveli is beautiful). Rooms are basic but all you need, beds are a little small but host offered for us to upgrade to a room with 2beds which we didn't do in the end but they're definitely approachable. Near to bus stop and beach.

We took extremely cheap room without AC for about 10 dolars for two persons for 1 night. We got what we paid for.... There was no problems just bring your own toilet paper...,.. Locality is good less than 5 minutes to the beach. There are few good restaurants near guesthouse too.
Located on the beach, the location is ideal. Overall it’s quiet and the room is comfortable and large. The AC works well and there is ample space and seating in the room. There are well kept gardens on the property with lots of interesting birds - we also appreciated the mini fridge and water provided in the room and the drying racks outside. The host is friendly and helpful which we appreciated
Nice laid-back guesthouse with rooms looking onto a private garden. The location is great, very quiet and only a 2 minutes walk to Nilaveli beach. Our bedroom and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed but we could still have breakfast there. There are a few other very good restaurants within walking distance. We had a very relaxing stay there!

This was the best accommodation I had in Sri Lanka so far. The room was big and very clean. The owners are so kind and answered all my questions and the Guesthouse is only a few minutes away from the quiet Nilaveli Beach. The breakfast was delicious!!

We enjoyed the silence, harmony, friendliness and beautiful area in Amal’s Paradies! Perfect location to slow down and to discover Nilaveli, Trincomalee, Uppuveli,… Amal is a very nice host. Always helpful, available before and during our stay. We will def come back to this beautiful place. It was also very nice to see that the extremely lovable dog was allowed to have such a nice and quiet place to live. We really enjoyed his presence. a soul of an animal.
I recently stayed at the beach hut property and had an absolutely delightful experience. The hut is charmingly designed and just steps away from the pristine beach, offering stunning ocean views.
The hosts were welcoming and provided excellent local recommendations, making our stay even more enjoyable. Their hospitality truly stood out.
Overall, I highly recommend this beach hut for a serene and relaxing getaway. I can’t wait to return!
Quiet and great location in Nilaveli, near the beach and a couple of good restaurants. The host and his family were very kind and helped us to arrange a scooter, snorkelling kits, breakfast, and other tips. Big, comfy, fresh and clean room. The little garden and terrace was perfect to chill out. We had a lovely time!
