Great location not far from shops, banks and beach. Beautiful setting in enclosed garden. Absolutely helpful host and caretaker. Spacious, comfortable cottage. We returned to the Cottage gardens on our way home adding an extra night.

This is such a unique and special experience. Any Bawa fans should take the opportunity to stay at this residence while in Colombo. The breakfast provided is generous and delicious. The staff are very kind and passionate about maintaining Bawa’s legacy and provide guidance without making you feel like you need to be overly concerned or precious about your surroundings. This is really a very special place, individual, hidden and very cosy! All the service staff was so kind and even helped me to get my delayed luggage from the airport (special thanks go to Imran)! The location of the accommodation is very central and yet pleasantly quiet. The rooms were clean and comfortable. This hotel gave us a great start in Sri Lanka. 😊
We had an amazing stay here. The hosts, Sam and Steph, are the most kind, welcoming people you could meet. The staff are very helpful, nothing was a problem for them. The Sri Lankan omelette for breakfast was the best I'd had in the three weeks of travelling the country.
Mount Bay Guest House rooms have all that you would expect at more expensive hotels. All the boxes are ticked. A very comfortable stay.
Everything was perfect. Room clean and spacious with kettle, tea, coffea, towels, linens, confortable bed. Nice common places and terrasse to relax. Great location, close to restaurants, shops and beach but very quiet. And most of all, very nice staff, helpull and who take time to give a lot of advices. We highly recommend!
Spotlessly clean, friendly hosts and great location. Spent all my time at the Mount Lavinia Hotel nearby. Great to have access to a fridge and washing machine.
Super host, Mr Raja, very attentive to our needs. Provided breakfast which wasn't expected but very welcome. Also complimentary cleaning of the apartment. Allowed us to use the lovely garden area to invite friends round to a bbq and even marinated the meatstuff for us. AC was good, and free wifi too. Location very convenient just outside of Colombo, very quiet with no traffic noise or fumes.
Everything was there what we needed and the facilities beyond our expectations. Very calm and quiet, easy check in and check out, super friendly host …super extremely clean..no complaints..they are are just a ring away for any needful.
I’ve stayed at the Villa in Lavinia many times. Since there has been a new manager it has gotten even better. Great location (just outside the city centre (which can be very noisy and crazy) in a nice, calm neighbourhood. The staff are super friendly and helpful and everything is very clean and nicely decorated. A boutique favourite for a very reasonable price.
