Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Lucky (the host) and his wife are very lovely people and give you a warm welcome. We had such a nice dinner in the garden in the evening, which Lucky’s wife cooked for us. Also, Lucky gave the amazing tip to climb the Yapahuwa Rock at sunrise. We were the only one there which was a great experience! Thanks for being a good host Lucky!
The host and his wife are extremely welcoming. They speak very good english, so talking to them is a real pleasure and you learn a lot. The host was also incredibly kind helping us arranging tuk tuks and trips. The dinner at their place was delicious.
The host was exceptional. He was so kind and friendly. They cooked dinner for us, arranged everything nicely on the table and did everything they could to comfort us. His wife is a very good cool and it was so delicious. He also went with us to a lake close by and explained plants and traditional things. The view was amazing and the chat with him very interesting.
The room was good, it had a mosquito net and a fan. You could take a table to sit outside, which was nice.
A jungle getaway, and definitely an immersive experience far from the hustle and bustle.
Lucky and his wife are amazing hosts. I felt pampered throughout my stay.
They provided me with a bicycle so I could move around freely — discover Yapahuwa temple, and cooked a delicious dinner for me. I am vegetarian and they adapted the dinner accordingly at no additional cost.
Breakfast is included, and so are water bottles.
Finally, they helped me book a Tuktuk and plan the next stages of my trip, which was highly appreciated.
