We had a great stay! The breakfast and diner buffets are delicious and not expensive. Everything is very clean and we liked the pool. The best part was the excellent service as they were very friendly, showed us a great place for the sunset. They had a very friendly personal taxi driver who brought us to his home cutting coconuts, always knew the best places for pictures, for diner places and brought us to the Lion Rock.
We would definitely recommend this place :)

In a country known for its hospitality, the hosts were truly exceptional. They were warm, gracious, and cared about providing a great experience. The room was beautiful, clean, and plenty spacious. The food was excellent, almost as good as our Sri Lankan ammi's (mom's). :-) They made lakefish and woodapple juice especially for us.
I'd definitely recommend having them set up tours and guides. They were all great and the pricing was very reasonable. Our elephant safari tour guide got us there early, let us stay as long as we liked. Our guide for Sigiriya took excellent photos, and shared a lot of history. Don't skip the wholesale market tour!

We weren’t the easiest guests (asked for a 7 AM breakfast and then ended up sleeping in). Still, hosts were gracious and accommodating, taking time to help us plan our sightseeing and arrange for drivers. Room was simple but clean. Working A/C and hot water.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
