The room was simple but really all you need, A/C is also there if you want to pay for it extra which we did. We don’t know if the accommodation has a WiFi for some extra money (we didnt ask for it), however there is non free of charge.
Guest house is situated a little walk from the city centre, if you wanna eat there is a Beerhouse with tasty, big and cheap meals and nice iced beer.
The owner is awesome and helpfull, he gave us lots of advices every time we needed them.
Dune Towers is a recently renovated guest house in Kalpitiya, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, private beach area and garden.

We had such a wonderful stay! The rooms are beautifully designed with so much attention to detail. The staff went above and beyond to customize all our activities to exactly what we wanted. The new pool is incredible—surrounded by rocks, with a slide and a waterfall, it felt like a mini paradise. We loved the swim-up bar and enjoyed drinks right in the pool. The food was fresh and delicious, with locally grown vegetables. Can’t wait to come back!

We spend two nights here in September 2024 and had a really lovely stay! The staff gave us a really warm welcome and we loved the venue and food. We went for the sunset boat safari with a local villager, which was really nice. He didn’t speak much English, but that didn’t bother us. He was very friendly and showed us lots of birds and monkeys and it was nice and calming to be on the river with the setting sun and later on in the dark with all the bats flying around. The full day private safari was well arranged by The Backwaters Lodge as well.

Lovely peaceful homestay in nature
I loved relaxing by the river and watching the birds and even better was swimming in the river which is perfectly safe. There is a wooden jetty with small steps to climb down into the river
Saw many kingfishers, eagles, monkeys. a giant squirrel, monitor lizard, and many small birds directly on the property.
Rishwan and his two staff boys are super helpful and friendly
Room was very clean and comfortable with a view directly on the river
Rice and curry for dinner top notch local cuisine

We initially planned to stay at Agro Village Kalpitiya for just one night but ended up staying for two. The wonderful host, Pereira, took great care of us. The food was so delicious that we had all our meals there during our stay! The shrimp and tuna were incredibly fresh. There's also a massage hut on the property where a masseur comes by appointment. My husband and I enjoyed a great massage in the evening at a good price. Nearby is a fantastic beach with a bar (next to Elements) and a kitesurfing school. I highly recommend visiting—it's a quiet, empty beach with wild donkeys roaming around. Our son was absolutely thrilled!

Lovely place located in a secluded area of Kalpitiya - it's a quiet place, 100% positive vibes, and perfect place to chill. Rooms were spacious enough, beds were comfortable, and our hosts were so kind and always ready to help. Food was great, especially the Sri Lankan dinner that they prepare for the guests. It's also possible to book a yoga session or a massage, as well as a boat tour of the lagoon, and they have a kite surf school nearby if that's your thing!
Everything was superb! Dinesh, Shibi and all the team were a great hosts! We appreciated our bungalow, foods, yoga sessions, pool and a trip to the jungle. Great experience, we highly recommend this beautiful place!
Dinuda is in a great location, not far from the sand bar with the sea on one side and the lagoon on the other. You can watch the kite surfers from the resort if you don’t want to venture out.
The rooms are lovely, big, bright and airy, very clean and comfortable. Lovely balcony with views out over the lagoon. There’s also a small pool, great to cool down in, and beautiful quiet gardens.
Sunsantha was a great host. The breakfast is nice and the organize kite trips which were very fun! Nice Kite Community!
In terms of kite surfing gear they have good kites in my opinion but the boards are very old and not of good quality…
Very beautiful and quiet cottage. Had the room on the top, very clean, with fan, a nice outdoor bathroom. Very kind host, the cook prepared delicious meals for dinner! Great various breakfast. Big room and comfortable mattress.
Little away from the beach, but you can get free bicycles.

WOW!! What a great little find! Located just outside the main area, it was super quiet and super chilled! The host Sfrz was wonderful. Great English, greeted me with a smile, we had great conversations about our countries and he even went out of his way to help me get transport to Jaffna not to mention cheap scooter hire for being able to see the remote beaches. The price was incredible and I got two nights of peaceful sleep. A definite Sri Lankan diamond 💎
