A lovely room and large terrace, set in a lush garden. We spotted a lot of wildlife just sitting there on the terrace. Friendly family running it who made lovely Sri Lankan breakfasts for us. Cute cat & dogs too! It's location is tucked away in the jungle but nearby to the beach and lots of restaurants. Can recommend!

We were looking for a comfortable room in a quiet location. We found exactly that and more. The family at Mahee House is most accomodating and helpful in all regards - even organising massages or showing us where to get tailor-made dresses in the area. We did a lot of homecooking and were provided with all necessary equipment. The area is very charming and quiet at night. If you try to get away from all the rush surrounding beaches like Hiriketiya, yet still want to stay close by, you've found the perfect spot. There is always an inhouse Tuk Tuk around and they will get you quickly to wherever you want go.

We wanted to make this review to clarify that this accommodation is owned by one of the most Pure hearted and kind people who've helped us incredibly much only in 24 hours.
The accommodation itself is clean, nice and beautiful. It was when we arrived in January 2025 only a couple of weeks old and it is clear that the hosts really want to make it special. The beds are nice, aircon is good and the location is perfect, only 5 min walk from the beach, restaurants and surf shops.
You chose between English or local breakfast in the morning- and we chose local and we were served a lot of incredible local dishes. Coconuts, egg, rotti, curry and bread and jam and a delicious avocado smoothie. We could eat the breakfast at any time we wanted everywhere we wanted and they were very flexible.
We left about 11 keeping our luggage in there home. I had a school meeting so I needed WiFi later in the day and the host suggested his brother's hotel (the neighbor which was incredibly kind and thoughtful).
We also had some problems with the local laundry which treated us unfairly, and our host personally went down there to speak with them and even got us our money back. Incredibly kind of him and we were very touched.
In general we would 100% recommend this place for accommodation - Also for more than 24 ours. Very clean, spacious and nice place with good and helpful people. ❤️
