The house is ideally situated between Turtle Beach, where you can swim alongside turtles, and Hiriketiya Beach, a favorite spot for surfers. It’s the perfect choice for anyone seeking a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The hospitality of the family was exceptional, and the food was absolutely outstanding—the best I had in Sri Lanka! I highly recommend having both breakfast and dinner at the accommodation. I will definitely come back again.

We loved absolutely everything, the rooms are amazing, everything is super clean, the location is perfect, 1 min to the most amazing beach you’ve ever seen. Chaamin, the owner is one of the kindest people we have ever met, he is pure kindness and joy. He will take care of anything you need and cook you the best food you have ever eaten!
You also get Free snorkeling, bicycles and laundry!
He also organized everything for us to go whale watching!
We are a couple that travels the world and we can wholeheartedly say this is the best experience we have ever had.

I have travelled for over 30 years and this is undoubtedly one of the best value-for-money homestays I have been to. The family are so kind and generous. Their comfortable home is on the beach, with views out to a beautiful bay. You can watch fruit bats and parrots roost at night and the sunrise from your bed! Turtles sometimes lay their eggs at night here but I was too lazy to stay up. Breakfast is amazing: lots of fruits and a variation of pancakes, patties, eggs, coffee etc. Bottled water is also freely available. Good fans and mosquito nets. Sam is a great host. His daughters were home at Xmas and they were wonderful too. You can swim well in the sandy bay or visit the beach below the lighthouse, 10 minutes away, where there is a cool bar with a swing and hammock over the water. I prefer the non-touristy side of things here and chatting with locals. I visited Dickwella today to suss out the next place to stay but it was far too touristy for me, so I returned to Dondra to stay even longer.
