The location of the property is fabulous overlooking the valley. It's around 10 -15 kms outside of Ella town, but you can get a tuk tuk to their place. The owner, Nadeha, and caretaker Nadu were amazing. The breakfast spread that Nadu made for us was so wonderful. They even packed breakfast for us when we checked out early to catch train to Kandy.
They guided us very well during our stay.

We, my girlfriend and I, have experienced our stay as a wonderful journey. When we arrived, we were faced with a closed gate, but within seconds the owner arrived. After checking in, we entered the room – perfect! A nice big bed, a clean and spacious bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and everything you could need!
After having a little chat, the hotel owner asked about our plans. We mentioned that we came for the nature and tranquility, and without hesitation, he offered to show us around the area. This was the start of an experience we will never forget. 🙏
First, we went to a small waterfall, very local with no tourists – just some local youngsters hanging out who even offered us a beer. Then he took us to Diyaluma Falls – what a massive waterfall that was!
He offered us lunch, which he had made himself! A sandwich we’ll never forget; it was incredibly delicious. Next, we visited Buduruwagala Rock Carvings, where the owner introduced us to Buddhism. The place was surrounded by nature – trees, plants, birds – pure enjoyment. We thought we were heading back to the hotel, but nothing could be further from the truth. We visited real monks, where we received blessings and a white bracelet from an elderly monk. They also offered us boiled corn – so tasty! After the visit, we continued back to the hotel.
On the way, we ran into a friend of the owner, who invited us to their home. When we arrived, the whole family was there to meet us. What kind and friendly people! They offered us tea and chocolate biscuits, and my girlfriend even received a gift! It gave us such a happy feeling, something we will cherish forever. ❤️
Then it was time to head back to the hotel – or so we thought. Instead, we went elephant spotting! Yes, you read that right – real wild elephants! It got quite late, but we spotted several wild animals, including both a male and female elephant. This, too, will stay with us forever.

How much do you have to dislike your hotel for everything to be dirty?
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Best tree-top house we ever had
Nicest owner in Sri Lanka
Best rice and curry we had in our holiday
Nicest place, peaceful an quiet
Worth to stay more nights
We had a wonderful stay! Our host showed us the sugar cane plantation, went on a little safari with us, spoiled our two little boys with sugar cane and river adventures and we couldn't have imagined a better stop on our road trip through Sri Lanka! The food was delicious, the service too and the host family was super friendly! Thank you for everything! We'll be happy to come back!
What an amazing experience and such a beautiful Homestay one of the highlights in our Sr Lanka Tour. Host and his family very welcoming with excellent food and service. Room very clean and comfortable. Great knowledge of the area and its wildlife.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The property is set in the countryside and there's only one room, which guarantees complete peace and quiet. The room is well furnished and clean. We also really enjoyed the outside area with the hammocks. I think the highlight of our stay was the dinner & breakfast, the food was just so fresh and tasty. I can really recommend to stay here, ideally maybe several days
We stayed here because we wanted to do a safari in Yala park. The place is really nice, a real retreat, surrounded by nature. They cooked for us - delicious dinner and they prepared a snack for the safari, which the host organised for us. Our driver Bati did an amazing job at spotting animals, he was super knowledgeable and friendly. We really enjoyed the time here.
Lovely accomodation in a natural and peaceful setting. It was very clean, and the host was nice and attentive. The food was also exceptional and some of the best we had in all of Sri Lanka. I would highly recommend this spot!
If you like a bit of adventure into the wild, this is the pace for you! Situated only 20 minutes drive from the National Park entrance, you will get the perfect quiet & chill atmosphere away from everything. The two hammocks in the patio will help you relax even more. Breakfast & Dinner were simply delicious (homemade products).
Room is good and bathroom is just outside.
I would recommend the Jeep Safari experience.
Thank you to the host Suj for providing us with lots of information before our arrival.
Lovely peaceful cabin near the national park. Bhagya is a great host and the accommodation is ideal. The vain is private and comes with kitchenette loaded with snacks and cold drinks (even beer) and a washing machine for your clothes!
The location is next to the national park, making it perfect for a safari trip.
The food prepared by Bhagya’s mum is some of the best I’ve had in a two week trip in Sri Lanka!
Very nice homestay at the quiet side of Yala National Park. Lots of nature and wildlife around and the host Bhagye is an excellent guide for a tour in Zone 5 (we were the only jeep that day). Abd his mother will prepare tasty original Sri Lankan dishes. And even airco and the best hot shower.
