Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Excellent guesthouse in a lovely restored old building - the guesthouse is really close to a night street food market which is great for dinner. The rooms are very clean and have both fans and air conditioning. Overall it is the best guesthouse in Kratié - it is close to the river and market but a little outside the main city area which means it is very peaceful and more full of local life.
Large nice room in a quiet part of town (some kids playing on the street in the evening and traffic during the day, but quiet at night). Only a few minutes walk from the center and 15 minutes walk to the tourist restaurants along the Mekong.
Friendly owner. He doesn't speak English but you can use Google translate to communicate.
Breakfast not included but can be taken in the Cafe downstairs. Only Cambodian choices though. A western choice like eggs and toast would have been nice.
The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The room has air conditioning. Although the host did not speak much English, he was incredibly helpful and arranged a really good tuktuk driver for me. You can rent a scooter here and they also let you use a bicycle for free. There are lots of restaurants nearby and the host helps arrange transport to the next destination at very reasonable prices.
- Good WiFi was in my room.
Booking.com says there is no WiFi at this hotel.
- Quiet air conditioning
- Comfortable double bed 2 m long
- Friendly
- Helpful
- They gave me an old bike for free for 2 days.
- Restaurant with lots of locals
But I didn't eat there.
- Close to the river
- The hotel had booked the dolphin tour and the minivan to the next town for me.
The minivan picked me up at the hotel.
Nice clean guest house. Friendly staff who picked us up from the night bus drop off point at 2am. Really good quality Khmer breakfast with a decent cappuccino.
