If you're looking for a warm and welcoming stay in Yufuin, this guest house is a true gem. Jin-san, the host, went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. He greeted us at Yufuin JR Station and kindly offered us a ride to the accommodation, setting the tone for a truly personal experience.
Our family room was cozy and well-equipped, providing everything we needed. One of the highlights was the onsen, which can be reserved for private use, making it a relaxing and enjoyable retreat. Another big plus was that Jin-san offered to drop us off at the starting point for our early-morning Mount Yufu trek. This thoughtful gesture saved us from the hassle of arranging transport and let us start our day off on the right foot.
The scenery around the guest house is breathtaking, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. And of course, we can’t forget Momo-chan, the charming resident cat, who added an extra touch of warmth to our stay. It’s a house surrounded by the beautiful nature. Luckily I could watch the countless stars at the night i stayed. The house is so spacious and warm. Onsen bath provided. Cozy room with comfortable bed. Big window with garden view( I love the garden , you can enjoy the sunshine and flowers am& vegetables there, and also a lovely cafe room. I really thank Shinya san and Hoaki, they ‘re so helpful and friendly, we share a lot. I feel totally home and warm in my stay. It’s a house full of love. Highly recommended for a relaxing trip.

Spacious room, clean and well airconditioned. Enjoyed it here, Staff was so friendly he picked me up and dropped me off to my bus station and showed me the view of the city! Gave me excellent tips on how to get around and what to do. I had a great time in Beppu and this guesthouse was one of the reasons, Thank you !! :)

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
It's a little bit farther away from the city center which is perfect if you're looking for a quiet and relaxed stay. If you are getting to Yufuin by public transport it might be a good idea to ask for a transfer from the train station to the hotel. From the room we heard birds singing and could see the mountains. The dinner was also exceptional.
Hosts were super friendly and able to communicate smoothly in English. Food was excellent. I like how quiet it is and the room is very comfortable. It was freezing cold in the outdoor onsen at night but as soon as I am in the onsen it was fine and I loved it. We walked through the cobblestone streets nearby and got some nice photos. There’s not much to do in the surroundings but allows you focus on resting.
Very nice place, out of the main town area so very quiet, but only about 15-20min or so walk into town to restaurants. Room was comfortable and bookable private onsens very nice too. Host happy to let guests use a large lounge and kitchen/dining area, so if you don't want to eat out every night, can bring food back to eat at the hotel. Host also very helpful and drove us down to town a number of times.

Everything about our stay was perfect: great and very friendly host, superb room with magnificent view, comfortable futon, nice terrace, cute cat, relaxing (private) onsen, sparkling clean, beautiful and quiet surroundings, exceptional service. We regret not staying longer! Thank you so much Jin!!
Mika was a great host. Great little homestay, breakfast each morning was wonderful and homely. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely country walk into Yufuin. Mika would sometimes give us a lift. Lovely little onsen in the garden all rustic. Mkka also helped us wash our clothes.
Great location and a lot of space for the family to spread out. The hosts also recommended great local places to eat, for which we were very appreciative.
Wonderfully relaxing to have a private onsen. The breakfast was fantastic and the vending machines outside the room annex were appreciated as we were there in summer.
Huge room with great privacy and quiet too.
Great location for exploring the area, much nicer than staying in Beppu.
