Staff Yuki was absolutely amazing, super kind, supportive and proactively helpful. The place is well cared for and in a convenient place; not far to walk through lovely scenery to buses and nearby boat tours, and the bike is available for a small fee as well.

This is a really beautiful place. The room we stayed in was the largest we've had in all of Japan. Joe was a great host, he even set up glasses and ice buckets for my partner and I to sit in the dining room to look out to the garden, which we did every night we were there. Probably the best private garden in Japan. A fantastic stay.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great location, 5 mn walk from the major sights. Easy parking.
Vast, very comfortable room with all amenities you expect, and superb views over the famous canals and boatmen.
The onsen has excellent quality of water, leaving your skin incredibly smooth.
Breakfast buffet is fine.
I had a greeeeaaaaat stay! the place was sparkling clean and the host was super nice :) It's hard to believe that there can be such a beautiful garden in the backyard!
The owner is really kind and helpful, drove us to Yame and showed us around. There is a cheap and clean public bath walking distance of the guesthouse. I will stay here again if I come back in Yanagawa.
Jo and his sister were great hosts. Communicative before I arrived and provided me with some light snacks and fresh fruit when I got in after cycling all day.
Bedroom and living space were large and very comfortable.
Breakfast was good with an excellent view of their garden which looked beautiful in the autumn colours. I was only staying the night but it’s walking distance to convenience stores, local tourist attractions like the gondolas and shrines.
Our host was very helpful and friendly. When our pizza could not be delivered, she even went out of the way to go amd collect for us herself. The rooms are quaint and lacking for nothing. Many restaurants nearby and would love to visit again.
This boutique guesthouse is in the converted family home of the owner who was on hand to greet us (in perfect English) when we arrived. The build quality and refurbishment of the house is immaculate. The furnishings and facilities are spotless, the beds very comfortable. We had two spacious rooms with a shared bathroom suite between them. Breakfast was very generous - cereals, fruit and pastries.
* The People: The host is of great responsibility of the guest house, paying attention to the safety of guests and could speak and understand amount of English.
* The Location: The Guest House is located among the sightseeing in Yanagawa, along the river banks and behind a bar. We could easily get to the delicious food, music store, temples and local people there.
Beautiful old house in a quiet neighbourhood, but close to the canals and the city center (10min walk). Very nice host, spacious rooms and a wonderful japanese garden.
Breakfast was delicious (soup, baked goods and fruit), the host made us a vegetarian option.
