First of all let me preface this with following information: This is the owners house. He lives on the second floor. Now when this is out of the way I cannot reccomend this enough. This is a really good lodging for its money and the owner is super nice. He picked us up at the station and even drove us to local hot springs and restaurants. He also took us close to Mt. Fuji (that costed around 5000 yen for gas) and we visited a hot spring from which we gazed at Mt. Fuji. Owner knows a bit of English and was super accommodating. Though it will help a lot if you know at least a little japanese.

Amazing experience in traditional japanese house!
Mama was amazing, cooked very good breakfast every morning ( mix occidental and japanese, homemade soup and jam!). The kitchen is available with fridge, cooker and microwave.
Rooms and beds were really comfortable, so cute, great heater, nice bathroom with shower bathub! Mama-san provided towels, nightgowns and all the bathroom amenities (incl. Great hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner etc.)
Wifi is on point too! Mama-san is very welcoming and her living room can be used to have dinner/chill there.
Nice terrasse with view on Fuji-san!
Mama came to pick us at the train station and bring us back when we needed to take trains to go to Arakurayama ( amazing park with views on Fuji-san).
Was the best homestay we had in Japan!

Jack is a wonderful and extremely friendly host who went out of his way to accomodate us. We had a great time in Isawaonsen and enjoyed trying out all of Jack's helpful tips for Onsen, restaurants and activities. He had great advice and we will definitely return!

Great quaint place with camping vibes. Cosy little cabin that was surprisingly not too cramped. Like the other reviews stated, this is a unique stay where you sleep to the sounds of flowing water above the creek and in my case, to the hum of the summer cicadas. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. Breakfast was also delicious.
Tuck away in the other side of lake so we really enjoyed the quietness and privacy. The house is elegantly decorated, spacious with everything we need. We had a wonderful holiday time here!

It’s an amazingly welcoming and warm place, literally make us feel like home. Very stylish and cozy, can tell the owner has really good taste and the employee was super helpful and hostile. We stay at the mini house this time, would say the view might be for blooming season or autumn, but still very relaxing to sleep next to the river and among trees. Recommend for groups or family travelers, many facilities to enjoy a traditional Japanese residence and fun and peaceful environment. Close to local cafes, restaurant, onsens.
