Came here for family winter snow experience. The area is a bit isolated, so its not too crowded. Better to have a vehicle for easy access to amenities and dining. Host is very helpful and can speak basic english.

This was one of the best stays I’ve had in Japan. The lodge is very cosy and clean, and in the most convenient location if you’re planning to ski. It is right next to Shiga Kogen Ski Resort, and there is free shuttle bus that takes you to GALA and Ishiuichi in just 10-20 mins.
Mina and her mum were wonderful hosts, warm and very helpful. They really took care of us and were so hospitable ☺️
The cafe downstairs is fantastic. Highly recommend having breakfast there. It is simple yet delicious, taste of Japanese home cooking. Desserts are quite special and a must try!

We absolutely loved the hosts!! They were so warm and friendly. Made us feel right at home.
Was given breakfast every morning. The bread (toast) made by the host was the best toast ever.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Amasing place with gentle owners, nice and cute japanese vintage style, bright rooms with yukatas, beautiful onsen space with clear hot water, near the nature with excellent connection with City Center by bus or walking, big 7/11 convenient store near.
We really really recommend- warto to book afajn for sure.
Many many thanks for Owners!

Arrived on a snowy day, once entered we are greeted by the kindest hosts and their lovely cat Ma-Me . them we are settling in this cozy beautiful farm house which is everything you imagined as living in the countryside of Japan, only even better in real life ❤️ the place is so spacious yet cozy, have everything you need, the breakfast and coffee made by our host is the highlight of our stay!
Exceptional service. Attention to details. Great dinners and breakfast. And, of course, the sake. I booked my stay 6 mths ahead. Tamakiya's hostess, Yuki, was always prompt to reply and even made timely advise on the day of arrival. Hotel provided boots and umbrellas for the snowy weather, which was thoughtful. The chef (Akita) and sommelier (Yamagishi) lived up to their reputation. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly
Absolutely incredible! We stayed for one night and had a lovely host family who welcomed us with homemade tea and drove us to the local onsen and sushi shop. The guesthouse was very cute and cozy and had a little balcony for us to sit and watch the snow fall! Highly recommend!
The host was exceptionally helpful in all ways. She inlcluded many thoughtful touches which made our stay here so positive. We loved having the house to ourselves.
Amazingly charming historical house, maintained by owner with lots of love for every tiny detail. It was a place I’ve never been but I felt melancholic, absolutely a fantastic place to stay. Pity that we spent only for 14 hours in the house.
