Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Santari Guesthouse is very clean, comfortable and convenient. The owner is very warm and helpful. Besides preparing a very good breakfast, Kazu-san also helped us make reservation for dinner and helped us to order food as we are not able to communicate in Japanese. Thanks very much Kazu-san !
The most amazing guesthouse with a wonderful and super accomodating host. It is located in a beautiful relaxing area and close to a range of activities. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the breakfast every morning was 10/10. The warm fire was also a lovely touch! We would 100% love to stay again! :-)
Mr Santari was an awesome host, made delicious meals for breakfast and dinner.
He had some handy booklets for sightseeing around the area and good restaurants.
The house was very cozy and clean with heaps of little touches that made it a great stay, one being the fire lit all day and a nice little paddle of great whisky collection.
You would ideally have a car for the area as it's a 10 minute drive from the main town where the restaurants are and not too much public transport options.
We stayed literally home at Kazu’s (the host) place and he looked after us so well and helped us with a super stay. Fantastic home made breakfast He helped us booking and taking us to a restaurant nearby. After he installed us at the restaurant he invited us for a whisky tasting of his Japanese favourites. The most helpful and kind host I have ever met. Thanks a lot for a memorable stay.
We were given such great hospitality by the host, who gave us advice for our ski trip and even let my friends sample some of his whisky collection. The guesthouse is also a beautiful space - super cozy and well-decorated. Staying at Santari has definitely been a highlight of our time in Hokkaido!
Beautiful, clean, small home with a friendly and informative host. He helped with all the activities in
The area and was equipped with English pamphlets.
