Great hosts. Very kind and caring. Treats you like a family. The dinner on both days was great. They made us feel like we are part of their family. Last day when the taxi got delayed, the couple dropped us in bus terminal in their cars taking all the effort. If we go back to Hakuba, we are staying in this place again.

Such a beautiful property, close to shops and the free shuttle. The host went above and beyond for us, he’s such a kind person.
We stayed in a Junior Suite as a family of 4, the room was plenty big enough, with two bathrooms. We could store our snow gear in a drying room each night.
The onsen was the best way to start and end the day!

Breakfast was amazing each morning. The staff were very attentive, always available and offered us many lifts around the town. The location was great - a 10 minute walk from lots of food options in town and even closer to the shuttle bus stop.

Recently renovated house, it’s beautiful. Super comfortable beds, spacious room. Excellent heating system in bedrooms and common areas. Super friendly staff, they took and pick us everyday to and from the ski area.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great location adjacent to the ski slopes and nearby restaurants. As close to ski-in, ski-out as crossing the road. The hosts had recently purchased the hotel and were keen to provide a memorable customer experience. The included breakfast set us up for the day's skiing and the dinner option was excellent.
I honestly booked this place because it was cheap and it turned out to be probably my all time favourite hostel. Such comfy and chill vibes and surprisingly well catered for a little place. The location is perfect too. Right near the main lifts for Tsugaike resort which is imo the best hill in Hakuba Valley. Definitely will be staying here again next time I'm in Hakuba.
I was initially skeptical about staying at Tsugaike seeing how the "main" resorts Happo-one and Hakuba 47 are quite a distance away. However, Hai Lodge was everything that previous reviewers had said. Tsugaike is a wonderful resort with many different terrains that would satisfy most people. The place was very well-maintained and clean. Josh and Victoria were wonderful hosts. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Hai Lodge and will definitely stay again next time!
Amazing house surrounded by trees. It's the perfect getaway, especially for families - the children can be children in this rustic cosy home and surrounding area. The option to have a bbq and a fire is fantastic. Mark is a great host and it was lovely that he stopped by to greet us in person.
A quaint and authentic Japanese lodge with the option of Western (1980s kitsch) or traditional rooms. Chris-San is a happy, friendly and helpful host, who offered to transfer us to and from Hakuba Station and puts on a delicious set breakfast. Facilities are ideal: on-site onsen downstairs and massive drying room for your ski gear. and the location? over the road from the slopes. Warm, dry, quiet.
Everything at Hai Lodge exceeded expectations and represents great value for money.
The staff go above and beyond to ensure visitors feel welcome and at home. Great location to the Tsugaike Gondola and offer cheaper lift tickets!
By far the best Hostel accommodation I’ve visited and will definitely be returning !
Great little boutique lodge. Lovely room, breakfast and dinners. The food was outstanding. The hosts were very helpful and helped with everything we needed.
Everything exceeded expectations. Spacious, warm, great location at incredible ski slopes, good kitchen and bathroom, comfortable beds. The host was incredible and helped us with everything. We couldn’t have wished for more.
