A real old-fashioned, authentic Japanese house. The hostess was very thoughtful. She provided towels, yukata and samoe to wear, toothbrushes, etc, and offered to cater dinner for our group for an additional fee with a few days advance notice (she cannot cater on the spot). We had an excellent feast. There is a small market 2 minutes away that mostly carries snacks and drinks right nearby, make sure you bring whatever you plan to cook/ eat - especially if you aren't having meals catered. For longer stays, there is a washing machine, and the kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, and oils and spices for cooking.

While maintain the original Japanese house, it was renovated with nice lights, toilet facilities, and the futon was very comfortable. The air conditioning in each room helped us stay cool in the summer heat.

Koji was a great host, very friendly and accomodating. The place has a very homey feeling, if I happen to come to Oshima again I will definitely stay at Ao to Cider.

Close to the beach and very walkable to the main parts of town and port, this is a great and comfortable guesthouse. We were a family of three with very minimal Japanese but the amazing hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had a family room with own bathroom which was certainly large enough for us and our luggage, and impeccably clean and tidy - as were the other shared facilities.
I thought Book Tea Bed was great - I was a little bit worried because I don’t have a ton of experience staying in hostels but you get your own little cubby with a curtain so it feels very private. The location was excellent, everything was clean, the staff was friendly & helpful. I definitely recommend visiting Izu Oshima as well as the island is beautiful.
The host is very friendly. The traditional house was beautiful. We could also use the bikes and it was really fantastic cycling around. We went to an outdoor hot spring (as recommend by the host) and it was the best hot spring experience. Breakfast was tasty. And thanks for bringing us to the bus station the next morning.

The bedroom with the view on the ocean is confortable and there is a desk if you want to work.
The host gave us some charcoal to do a BBQ.
KON accomodation had everything we needed. The house is very comfortable and quiet. The host and his mother were very friendly and helpful. The host came to the port to pick us up and he brought us to the accomodation.
We rent two bikes and there are plenty of possibility to discover the island. There is a great Ramen restaurante at a walking distance and an amazing sushi bar 港鮨 at the port (Habu Port)
Izumi is a great host, we felt at home.
She accommodated our needs in the best way possible.
She also prepared for us a lovely breakfast that we really enjoyed.
The kitchen was spacious and there were a lot of cooking spices/ sauce and cookware that you can use/rent for cheap price. The shared space for dining was cozy, I like spending time here eating and chatting with friends. Electric bikes can be rented for an affordable price and the host even let us use in the next day as well which was super nice. I had fun cycling around town and stumbled upon some nice spots along the way. I would love to come back here in summer to enjoy more activities on this beautiful island.
