Plenty of room. Comfortable and had a lovely feel. Everything you need in a beautiful town. It is great to have a restaurant relationship to enable us to get a meal as we arrived early evening and Magome does not have a lot of options for dinner. This was certainly a bonus

It’s an entire house and very big! Full of antiques and curios, and very near the station. The bakery next door opens at 8am for the best breakfast, don’t miss it.
The supermarket opens at 10am till 6pm and there aren’t many restaurants around :-).
Gold base to explore the Nasenko trail as you can do day trips, I wish we had done that instead of moving everyday, you can take the train to the stations where the tracks start.
Featuring mountain views, 馬籠ふるさと学校 Magome Furusato Gakkou in Nakatsugawa offers accommodations, a garden, and a shared lounge.

The location and feel of the it being back in school was fun. The property still runs community events for families which felt nice apart from the guesthouse. Full of cheerful energy all around. I got to watch basketball game in the gym and later was able to shoot around as well. The staff were just the best! From the start, got a wonderful attitude for being there and having us as guest. Even organized a snack party that evening with traditional soba noodles and other treats. The areas and rooms were nice and spacious plus clean. Just honestly wish I should have booked a few nights to enjoy the place more.

Very unique property with central Japanese garden. Great for a large group. The surrounding neighborhood is very traditional; part of the old Nakasendo trail.

Hostess Toki was fantastic. She made dinner reservations for us in town, provided directions to the castle ruins and met us at the train station when we were leaving to start our trek on Nakasendo Trail. We were a group of 4 and had the whole place to ourselves, which was lovely.

I had an amazing stay at this guest house. The host is incredibly helpful and welcoming that tries to make you feel at home.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Lots of space, quiet area, nice view of mount Ena. Great host! He went at great lenghts to help us book a restaurant in town on a busy evening. And helped us again, when train troubles had us delayed. Again, thank you so much.
We can also highly recommend the restaurant reseveration.
The guesthouse is a beautiful 110 year old traditional wooden structure. The futon was very comfortable, all the facilities were great, and the room was spotless. Assi was a great host. I'd recommend Guesthouse Shigi to anyone visiting the Kiso Valley!
Our host Keiko met our bus in the village and drove us to the guest house. Breakfast and dinner were excellent, beautifully prepared and presented. The guest house was very quiet & comfortable, Keiko super welcoming and generous. She handed us a bear bell when we set off for our walk on the Nakesendo trail to Tsumago-juku and had prepared a hot soaker bath with citrus for our return. Delightful!
Beautiful old Japanese guesthouse in the middle of magome. The welcome was great. The host drove us to a restaurant as the village was quiet because of the holiday period. Japanese breakfast served when we asked in the morning.
Simple but well-designed guesthouse, with helpful host. Magome is very quiet at night and she made sure that guests knew which restaurants would be open.
* Truly exceptional host. Kind, genuine and made our stay unforgettable. Highlights were his excellent recommendations and going above and beyond to help us.
* Amazing decor and ambiance. It truly felt like we got to experience what it was like living in Japan in the first half of the 1900s. Cannot recommend this Guesthouse for the vibe and interior enough.
* Great location if you would like to experience a more local and authentic side of Japan.
Nedoko Guesthouse is just perfect.
Great location, short walk from free parking recommended by the host (we came by car). Everything in the Guesthouse is nicely designed, bathrooms are quite big, well equipped.
Room with tatami is perfect size for 2 people (with suitcases open.
Free granola, tea and cafe are really nice.
Such a cool little guesthouse in the heart of picturesque Magome. Things started well with a welcome lift from the bus station by the welcoming owners who also booked us a local restaurant for the evening. The small guesthouse is stylish with free tea/coffee available and cereal for breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great view from our room. Lovely spot and great hosts.
We had a very pleasant stay at Guest house Motomiya. The owners were very friendly and helpful and their house is lovely, in the charming countryside on the old Nakasendo. The room was very nice and the beds confortable. And last but not least, the diner was delicious, made of several dishes each of them tastier than the other. Everything was perfect and we highly recommend Motomiya guesthouse !
