Oyado Hana, hotel in Nachikatsuura

Located in Nachikatsuura in the Wakayama region, with Nachikatsuura Sports and Cultural Center nearby, Oyado Hana provides accommodation with access to a hot spring bath.

Great little inn right next to the train station and extremely convenient in that regard. I stayed in a 3 futon room with two teen sons and we each tried the onsen to warm up on an evening.. really very good and nicer by far than a larger hostel.. much more like an 'inn' if that makes any sense.

くまの蔵inn Warehouse, hotel in Nachikatsuura

Set in Shingu in the Wakayama region, with Kamikura Shrine and Shingu Castle Ruins Park nearby, くまの蔵inn Warehouse offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

This place is utterly charming—cozy enough to ward off the chill of a winter night. The owner is a delight, and borrowing bikes in the morning to explore the town was the perfect way to spend a few hours. The shower? Immaculately clean. The kitchen is just right for whipping up a quick breakfast, though attempting a three-course dinner might be pushing it.

簡易宿所 ふくろく, hotel in Nachikatsuura

簡易宿所 ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha.

The guesthouse was very conventiently located next to Shingu station (about a 3-4 min walk), and the hostess was extremely kind and helpful, even though I spoke no Japanese ! The rooms (with futon bedding) were comfortable and relatively spacious, and the facilities were spotlessly clean. I would definitely recommend this place to any traveller in Japan.

ゲストハウス 畔(hotori), hotel in Nachikatsuura

Boasting a garden and views of inner courtyard, ゲストハウス 畔(hotori) is a recently renovated guest house set in Nishimukai, 14 km from Shionomisaki Shrine.

The property is very clean, comfortable and very helpful for foreigners, room was clearly labeled, instructions in Japanese and English, how to use the laundry machine, kitchen gadgets, lights, aircon; the kitchen is stocked with simple cooked rice and packed curry available on hand (please pay cash or pay-pay application). I was reserved for second floor room with futon (no bed), small desk, lamp, ceiling and aircon with remote with explanations how to use, towels, toothbrush, amenities including face lotion provided for free use. Make sure to buy something before arriving as the nearest convenience store seems to be on the other side of the bridge.

Friendly and gracious host. Cozy and homey wood cabin. Kids loved it. Played basketball, used the swing, hammock and picked blueberries. Quiet mountain forest surroundings which was a reprieve from the busy japanese cities.

The owner was really nice, it is the low season so when I arrived she offered me to stay in a single bedroom instead of the dormitory I’ve paid for. For 2 days I was literally alone, it was super quiet. You have everything you need if you want to prepare your meals. She even recommended me a very cute cafe you should visit right next to the hostel: ユータウン with a very cute indoor garden and amazing pancakes. Overall a great stay 😁

Wonderful little house located within walking distance of station. Host was lovely and very kind - we arrived soaking wet having been caught in the heavy rain and she allowed us an early check in which was amazing as we were able to get dry and regroup. The area surrounding is quiet and great to take a stroll in the evening.

They have 3 washing machines and 2 drying machines that is free to use That helped me a lot to wash my sweaty clothes. 4. Price is cheap. 5. Owner is a old couple but very nice to introduce their property as much as they can in Japanese. 6.Quiet

Perfect location directly opposite the train station. Quiet, clean room perfect for a one night stay after finishing our Kumano Kodo hike at Nachi falls. Very good value for money. The hostel has an onsen bath but we didn't use it. We had dinner at the hostel owner's brother's tuna restaurant next door which was really delicious and cheap considering it was high-quality food.

I slept in the dorm, a new experience! It was quiet all night, and enough room in the capsule. Clean and nice showet. Nice staff. The hostel is right by the train station so it was very convenient as I was taking the train early the next morning. I came from Nachi (Kumano Kodo) and the bus stopped right outside the hotel. Cheap, nice hostel if you need a place to sleep in Katsuura.
