The location was perfect for our visit to Zentsuji, where my grandfather was held as a prisoner during the World War II. Also close to restaurants and shops for convenience.

Check in at the restaurant is convenient (and the food is good if you want to also get something to eat there), the house is charming and located in a quiet neighbourhood. Nice common areas and kitchen. Highly recommend!
Totally cute traditional Ryokan with kitchen and several rooms. It feels a bit like a hostel but it is really charming because there are only Japanese houses around and gardens in a very rural area. Seems really authentic. Nice host and good standard!

Great location to visit Iya Valley (just need to catch the JR train a couple of stops to Oboke). Nice, traditional guesthouse 10 mins walk from town/train station. You can use bikes for free to ride into town (only 5 min ride to a big supermarket).
Air-conditioning in the room and we also had a small balcony. Can use washing machine for free and we dried everything outside.
Beds were fairly comfortable for Japanese style.
Excellent breakfast. The room is big, quiet and very clean, with view to the valley and mountains. Excellent service - we arrived late in the evening and missed the dinner time, the host prepared a simple meal delivered to our room charging us a 7-Eleven price.
