First time at an Airbnb unit. It was absolutely gorgeous & clean (I want to have one to live in permanently). Hot water issue, but I used the message on this site & 10min later help came! Walkable to shops/restaurants!

The property is at a great location if you are cycling counterclockwise around Lake Biwa starting from Maibara Station. It was also quite affordable compared to other places in the area, and the staff were extremely kind and receptive to my questions when I called.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Located in a lovely quiet village. There is a shared kitchen (not many restaurants nearby) and living room. Tatami mats covering the floors. Even a small courtyard garden. The owner is around a lot but doesn’t live there so it is just courteous to give him as accurate an arrival time as possible. It is 10-15 minutes walk from Kashiwabara station. The room was small but comfortable. A very nice place to stay.
The house is absolute gorgeous and right on the old Nakasendo-route. This would be an amazing place to stay with a group of friends (especially outside the hot summer season). The host was very kind and also speaks some English.
Very quiet guest house, with a well stocked kitchen and several sitting areas. Lovely little town with very friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
