Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Amazing stay! The owner even walk out to welcome us when she saw us, the japanese style room is amazing with a kimono to choose. We arrived late and we get a super good restaurant recommended by the host. The food was amazing there too!!
great location, nice rooms, clean, loved the onsen, excellent breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay. Perfect for Kiso Valley travellers
rooms, onsen, breakfast.
Nice location in the nature.
large and generous Japanese breakfast with a special dish for children.
Loved the nice Yukata selection.
Cool spot right on the river. Very nice room and the onsen was quite nice. Breakfast in the morning was great and varied. Definitely more of a typical hotel than a guesthouse but had a really nice one night stay.
Our second stay at this property - great location. Easy walk to and from station, as well as to local sites.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly.
Nice a quite guest house at the very end of the the road. We stayed in a family room meant for 5. Even though we were a party of 3, it would have been roomy even for 5.
The hosts were warm and very nice. They were also incredibly patient. They assisted with travel from the guesthouse on checkout, brining us to the nearest bus stop. The western style dinner we order was fantastic, so was the breakfast.
10/10 Would visit again.
The guest house was in such a beautiful location surrounded by stunning views of mountains. The staff were the sweetest, best hosts and their food was fantastic.
The location was lovely and quiet. A mountain resort town in winter.
The breakfast was amazing the hosts extremely hospitable even though very limited English spoken. It wasn’t a problem however.
Onyado Tsutaya is close to a Ryokan regarding service; the staff is super attentive and helpful, the entrance is quite charming and the public bath is nice. I selected the cheapest room but the window faced towards the river, which I consider a plus.
Food was good, just a tad under Ryokan quality and flavour, but plentiful.
The location is OK, 12min away from the station, but the city is not that big anyways.
There are two parking spots in front of the building.
