The owners of the establishment were amazing!! They made us feel so welcomed. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary and they had a special gift in the room for us. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We were wet from our bike ride and they had shoe dryers so that we could start our day off great. They made reservations for us for dinner, which was amazing and also let that establishment know we were celebrating our anniversary 🥰. We plan to return to this location again on our next visit and truly enjoy more time here and on the wonderful island of Hakatajima. From the moment we arrived and were greeted with a cold glass of lemonade to the moment we left and were given a parting gift, we felt at home! We plan to stay for a more extended stay. We stopped here during our two days of cycling and were very pleased with the stay. The host (Sayomi) is so gracious to open up her home to cyclists. She also provides a delicious dinner and breakfast which is so important as there are very few restaurants along the way. This is a true homestay and we thoroughly enjoyed speaking with Sayomi over our meals with the help of google translate.

For how cheap it was, this was one of the better stays me and my friend had during our first trip to Japan. We stayed here overnight while cycling the Shimanami Kaido, and it was a perfect place to unwind after being on a bike for several hours. The person running the place was very friendly, and was very helpful with telling us about the surrounding area. If I ever came back to Ikuchijima, I would pick this as my first place to stay again.
