Maybe we were lucky to share the pension with respectful guests, or maybe the rooms had better insulation than most places, but it was really quiet. The beds were old but comfortable and the hosts were very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were good, too!

We stayed at Utopia while going snowboarding. It was the perfect place! Warm and cozy, staff was amazing and super close to the city center. The walk to the mountain was very short. I'd highly recommend this hotel for a fairly budget friendly cozy space to stay. Sadly we didn't get to try the breakfast given our times there but it looked yummy. The front bar was also super cute although we never had a drink there.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Abby and Mark were great hosts! Breakfast was amazing and all of Abby's cooking was delightful. Abby was very helpful in suggesting things for us to do on days we didn't ski.
The management was very lovely and helpful. They handled our ski lift pass with better price. Some facilites were refurnished couple of months ago, some shower has been added. Big shout out for Olivier who was a great host.
We stayed in a 2-bedroom lodge in a quiet part of Madarao. The accommodation was warm and cosy. And my kids loved sharing their cute mezzanine bedroom.
What really made the trip for us was the incredible, warm staff. Every evening, we’d hop across to the central lodge (You can get food, drinks, and entertainment there)… and the hosts made us feel like family.
We’ll be back next year!
Ringo Jam is a small, boutique hotel with comfortable beds, spacious rooms and very well maintained facilities.
Pete is a generous host, driving us the 5 mins to the ski lift, organising our passes and also taking us out of town to the best Onsen and local restaurant.
The place is warm and also has its own mini onsen downstairs.
Nothing to dislike about this place great location, great food, great hosts.
Rooms were comfortable, facilities were excellent, we will be back again next season.
Very good breakfast and delicious dinner. The scenery is good but location is a bit remote and far from town. It is a quiet place and can ski in and out. Friendly hosts and arrange free shuttle from nearby station.
