Very close to the station. Quiet nice and lovely stay. Allowed me to use the common room up until 12 pm. That was so lovely. If I ever visit Okayama again, I will choose this stay again.

We had a great stay at toranjyo lit, a traditional ryokan house. It is simple but has everything you need and it’s very charming. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, giving us tips how to structure our nioshima/teshima trip and picking us up from the bus stop.

Very spacious, good if you want more space than the usual crampy Japanese hotel. Located a bit far from the station, but it’s just by the end of the shopping street so it’s nice for walking around.

Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
It was a big house with traditional Japanese garden ! Very quiet and clean. House owner is very nice and welcoming. It’s close to the station which is very convenient for me to visit the other islands close by.
If you love a lovely atmosphere reminiscent of Studio Ghibli films, Hayashima is your city, and this traditional guesthouse feels like a fairy tale. It's an absolutely amazing place. You can relax in the main room, enjoying a drink or a meal while taking in the view of a traditional Japanese garden filled with birds and dragonflies. The garden and quiet environment are wonderful. The town is small and cozy, making it a perfect base, just a few stops away from Okayama. The guesthouse owner is incredibly kind and helpful.
A wonderful guesthouse with a great traditional feel and lovely gardens. Location is great, in a nice town with a short walk to train station (easy access to Okayama and ferry port for Naoshima). Host very welcoming and provided useful information and recommendations for the town. Nice common area which offers the opportunity to meet other guests.
The garden was really cute. It was a typical japanese house. Amazing ! We went to a good japanese restaurant that the staff recommended us.
For the location, it was close to a station but it was not in the city center (not in Okayama). It depends what you’re looking for.
This guesthouse is simply unique, with its traditional architecture, inside and outside, and its beautiful garden. The host was super welcoming and speaks English. It's definitely a place I would stay at again.
