Nagano City is a stunning place, famous for its local products and as a hub for skiers and travelers exploring the surrounding areas. But what made our trip truly special was this hotel—it’s not just a place to stay but an experience in itself.
The decor is absolutely beautiful, with so much thought put into every detail. From the fresh lilies that perfumed the reception to the quirky collection of local pepper cans (yes, we were obsessed!), every corner felt unique and welcoming. We stayed in a traditional Japanese-style room, which was perfectly equipped and incredibly relaxing—a wonderful way to unwind after exploring.
Although the hotel isn’t right next to Nagano Station, getting around was super easy with frequent buses and trains. On top of that, Mr. Haruhiko went above and beyond, offering to drive us to the nearest station whenever we needed—it’s this kind of thoughtfulness that really sets this place apart.
What truly made our stay unforgettable were the hosts, Fumie and Haruhiko. Their kindness and attention to every guest were beyond anything we’ve experienced before. As a gay couple, we’re often careful when booking accommodations, but their acceptance and warmth made us feel completely at home from the start and all worries were settled.
It’s hard to put into words just how much their hospitality meant to us. They didn’t just make our stay comfortable—they made it memorable in the best possible way. We left with full hearts, feeling truly cared for.
If you’re thinking about booking this hotel, do it—you won’t regret it. Thank you, Fumie and Haruhiko, for an unforgettable stay, we will miss you.
With gratitude,
Myke & Andre
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
This route inn is situated in an area with traditional Japanese spas, and I was pleasantly surprised to smell Sulfur in the Onsen(public bath), something that you don't experience at other route inn hotels. The hotel has 3 separate parking lots nearby, and car users do not need to worry about parking their cars.
Breakfast was good and my room was quiet.
Traditional Ryokan with good location. Have been to this place two times already, 24h Onsen access, spacious rooms, and I really recommend the japanese breakfast & Kaiseki style Dinner! Tyler is a great and very helpful host. See you next time :)
A unique stay that I will certainly remember! The host is wonderful and has a genuine warmth, making you feel like your at home. Plenty of character to the place, and definitely somewhere I would stay again!
Lovely hosts, very friendly - spoke great English. We were in futon in a tatami room, it was cozy but we loved it. The hosts are kind of local celebrities and everyone knows them, so it was a lot of fun staying there. The hosts provided a space heater and there was a room heater as well, so we were well taken care of. The property is very clean as well.
The host was so lovely and friendly! I didn’t have food the night I got there and they gave me dinner for free. The host’s friend even offered to drive me to my bus stop the next morning!
The place located in a beautiful surrounding which walking distance to the station. The owner is very friendly and met some wonderful travelers. You can find an apple farm and a highway service area near to the guesthouse and the service station sells fresh fruits.
Unexpected dinner and beer! Chat, have a drink, and watch the night view with the host at night! It is wonderful to fall asleep to the sound of ding-dong running water.
The host was absolutely kind and made everything that her guests are happy.
I made the best experience as a guest and had a vision of local lifestyle she showed me.
It was the best time i had in japan.
For all the next ones they come, take care of this nice lady !
Incredible hostel in great location! Close to town center and near the most incredible onsen I have ever been to. Host was kind, the beds were comfy, overall wonderful hostel!
