Joe instantly made me feel at home, I couldn’t really ask for a nicer host. The house was beautiful and the location was stunning. Traveling on ny own can get lonely but Joe made me feel very welcome. Highly recommend staying at Guesthouse Oomiya Base.

When I booked this place I was under the impression due to another hotel's response that I could book 2 people and my child didn't count but I did something wrong and she was very accommodative for it, I paid to fix the error and stayed with no issues.
She would bring us a small meal each day which was very thoughtful and helpful too since we had a toddler. We had the futon beds which were very comfortable.
We didn't go upstairs as that was for other people who booked. We had a shared toilet but hardly saw the other people so there were no restroom issues. The shower was great, good space for family.
Despite the language barrier we were able to communicate with Google translate and was able to notify our late arrival via email.

The staff we met was a mother and son, and it was so comfortable talking to them. A nice breakfast was prepared at a time we specified too. Mini housekeeping was also done whenever we were out.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Clean, modern, comfortable hotel. Fabulous bathroom with a glass walled, separate shower room. Great location, easy walk from the train station. Undercover arcades most of the way, if not great weather. 2nd stay in 10 days.
Location; very near train station. Very polite staff. Good (basic) hotel for its price. Compared to the cheap room, breakfast is more expensive, but very worthwhile. Very diverse and good quality.
Great location within easy 5 minute walk to train station. Quiet and safe area. Room was clean, comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke English enough to help make check-in easy. Lobby and hotel exterior were very nice. Bed was comfortable and shower was great.

Great location. Close to the biggest stations.
Clean.
English speaking staff.
Got myself a room with a great view and massage chair.
I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this one is at least 2000 Yen cheaper than some of it's not so great competitors.
Great location. The small table and chairs in the room were nice to have. It was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Having the city airport bus right there was very convenient.
