It's about a 15 min walk to the nearest bus station but I loved how it was next to a park and a very quiet area. It's still a walkable location to Beppu Jigoku.

The apartment is clean, well kept and equipped. It is located near the main train station, market, eateries and a public hot spring. The landlady also runs a cafe on the ground floor and makes simple but delicious breakfast. I will definitely choose to stay here again when I am in this area.

The onsen directly in the hotel is a huge plus. I liked to go there to relax at the end of the day. There are 2 main areas. One that stands for a coffee shop and one reserved for the customers. I liked both: the chai latte was good and the other area had a large collection of manga to read from.

Loved my stay here. The location is excellent, right near the station and lots of really good places to eat and drink nearby. For some reason there was barely anyone else staying here when I was there, so I had the whole dorm room to myself. The sauna was awesome as well, you get to use it for free. Very clean and really comfortable shared area.

Very basic but good and clean enough for a small family like us. Close to the station, public bath with hot spring and town centre with lots of eating places.

They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
The location was walking distance from a lot of interesting onsen. The host was incredibly kind, be sure to ask him for restaurants and onsen recommendations! The facility itself was homely and very pleasant, quiet too. All of this for a price which is honestly quite cheap. If I visit Beppu again, this is the place I'll return to.
Looked exactly like the photos, provided ammenities (toothbrush, towel etc), kitchen had plenty of cooking supplies, living room space to eat/hang out, comfortable beds, modern apartment, free parking spot out the front and great location to convenience stores, parks, city centre, onsens and hikes.

The charming surroundings are complimented by your hosts, an older couple who have lovingly restored this beautiful building.

Guest House Sakichi is a very charming Japansese house and very well maintained, the room was cosy and futons very comfortable with clean facitilies (shared toilet and bathroom). The hosts were kind and there is a sento/onsen just in front of the house, where the hosts advise us to go at our arrival and it was very relaxing.
The house is situated at about 15-20 min walk from the Beppu station, along the river in a very nice neighborhood.
We loved this house, so spacious and in a great location. Everything you need gor a good stay. It was quiet despite being close to town and the communication with host was good.
The guesthouse was a lovely accommodation with very friendly hosts. The daughter of the owners kindly welcomed me with tea and a snack! :)
I advise to bring ear plugs, because old Japanese houses like this one are not sound insulated. I still think it is worth staying there because it is so charming!
The common spaces are very clean.
A really nice boutique hotel surrounded by forest, in a great location. Staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms very comfortable. Off the main road on a quiet side street which was great for a little walk with the kids.
