Lovely little spot. Short walk from Tebiro beach which is - even by Amami standards - mostly deserted. Surprisingly good air-conditioning, too. Needed it!

The hospitality of the couple running this guesthouse is beyond imagination. They are kind and available to help. Every area of the guesthouse is clean, well furnished and has a nice smell. All the services are on point. There are big showers, the laundry area with also the dryer, the kitchen and the kids area (which is HUGE) and has plenty of games and book for kids. If I have to go back to Amami I will definitely stay here again.

The owner runs the place alone, but he still went all the way to the airport to pick me up. Despite my very limited Japanese ability, we were able to communicate quite well.. But the most important thing was he helped me rent a small scooter that I surely would not be able to rent without a local person vouching for me. This made my Amami trip really unforgettable and I'm forever grateful for the help I have received here!
Also the evening of tasting local shōchū and stargazing was amazing.

The hosts were a family of hospitable, kind, and humourous people! Rika was so generous and gave us a lift to Ohama beach. We rented snorkels for 400 yen from them as well, which was awesome. The building and rooms seem newly built and the beds are super comfortable and clean, and I love the star cutouts. The balconies have a cute view of forest and town.
