We enjoyed our stay at the lava guesthouse. A friendly host welcomed us and gave us many information for the area. The room was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was in walking distance. We highly recommend to stay at the guesthouse to explore Heimaey.
The cottage was SO cute and charming! Very cozy vibes! We even got to see puffins along the coastline by our cottage in early September! The hostess was very kind and helpful. We arrived after dark by foot and couldn’t find it. After wandering around for a bit, we gave her a call and thankfully she was very responsive and kindly came to our rescue and brought us to the right cottage.
Quiet place, the room has everything one needs (except for kitchen or fridge). Great location near all the essential services. The code-system for doors works well.
Cheaper guesthouse but very clean. I was in a simple attic room. It was very clean with a great view of the harbour.

I loved the place, super clean, organised and spacious. Loved my room because it is spacious and the stunning view from my room. I felt like home. Even I was travelling with my 3yo twin daughter and everything was perfect. Quiet and looked like the house was just for us. Gaui, the host was very attentive and helpful.
If I go to the Island again I will stay at Arny Guesthouse for sure.
