Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Nice place. Quiet although close to the road. Angela and Gisli are very nice owners. Had interesting discussion with them. Thanks again for your promise to help me if I want to know the meaning of an islandic word.
One of the guesthouses I will choose again when coming back in this region
The Nest is a quiet guesthouse in an Icelandic Arctic Village called Raufarhöfn. People should first understand this means the village is remote and in a pristine location. My room was equipped with a full-size kitchen, a shower, and two beds. It was perfect for me but is also great for families. The village itself is wonderful, boasting very beautiful landscapes. I teavelled here to visit the Arctic Henge, see the seals, and take photos.
The town itself is very quirky and may not be for everyone. If you want to be in a friendly, small fishing town on the edge of the Arctic circle and be exposed to exceptional hiking and amazing coastline look no further. The guesthouse is simple and homely. The lady at the reception is an absolute super star.
The host was super kind!
additionally, on every plant we had a space for cooking and a small living room. I was in a group of 18 people and we could enjoy our staying there.
additionally, laundry and dryer machine are availabr for free!
we spent 2 nights there and we loved the Nest!
one of the best of our trip!
Great location near the harbour. A lot of wildlife in the surroundings. Nice room, very spacious and very clean. The young lady at reception/restaurant was very professional and polite and when I left gave me a lot of useful informations about some places to visit. Excellent food in the restaurant, good breakfast. I would stay again.
