We had the most pleasant hospitable experience during our Iceland trip . Breakfast is amazing . Staff is amazing . We rented 2 bedroom chalet and it was perfect for our family . Our kids enjoyed the hot tub . Location is amazing and mesmerizing .
The first night of our stay it was a bit hot ,request the owner to hve a fan . However the weather was perfect the second night so didn’t face the problem again . No midges at all , so we got lucky staying by Mývatn lake . Would come back for sure . Highly recommended for families

Clean, new amenities. So new that some of them don't work yet. Heated floors and towel rack were more luxurious than we are used to. But a hot shower is our minimum, and the shower refused to stay warm for more than 1 minute at a time.
Quietly located 3.1 mi from Iceland's Ring Road and 8.1 mi from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain.

We had a great stay in a shared cottage, there were 2 apartments - common walk in area, but private room with private shower. Everything was clean and the breakfast was truly a highlight of our stay: homemade lamb paste, homemade selection of jams, great selection of meats.
The place is lacking a small fridge. Most people are traveling around the country with a cooler full of food so it would be nice to have a mini fridge in the cottage.

The room was very spacious. There was more beds then us but it was great. The breakfast was good and the resort offering such as coffee and tea was complementary. There was also hot tub available if needed.

We stayed in the big house rather than the guest house addition. The room was quite adequate in size with a table and two chairs as well as a desk with a chair. The bathroom was adequate in size. I guess the hand soap on the sink needed to work as shower gel and shampoo as well. It seemed to do OK. It was nice to have a hot tub so close to our room. However, we did not really want to go out in the rain and cold to use it. The N1 station in Laugar has an excellent restaurant. An Icelandic couple said they had just driven 150 km to just have their plokkfiskur. We ate there three times, had the excellent plokkfiskur once. The hallway outside of our room had a microwave, fridge, and various eating utensils. The breakfast was the best we have had in our nine day trip to Iceland.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Great breakfast included in our stay, rooms were clean and comfortable. It feels more like a hostel instead of a guesthouse, but we definitely recommend this place.
The room was average and unfortunately was not the room we booked (was meant to have a desk in it). The guesthouse had an unusual smell but overall it was clean. Great location and the receptionist was lovely.
The host was very friendly, the house was a dream and the breakfast was delicious. Also, the views were breathtaking.
You can tell they care and they are proud of their guesthouse and farm.
It was a pleasure being there!
We absolutely loved staying here. The guesthouse is lovely, the kitchen is huge and room was basic but still felt very cosy. We saw the northern lights perfectly, what a great location! There was also 2 farm dogs running around, who were so friendly and cute! The free breakfast in the morning was amazing as well. This is probably our favourite guest stay in Iceland! Highly recommend!
Lovely Hotel.
Would stay here for the buffet alone!
But also - wonderful picture windows if you are lucky enough to see the northern lights, great location with views of natural craters and lots of birdlife. Perfect spot for walking and taking in the view. Staff were very helpful.
Free tea and coffee whenever you need it.
Great breakfast and dinner buffet options and all in all a very charming hotel with lots of personality.
Elevator was a bonus as we were travelling with my elderly mother.

Great location at the Myvatn Lake side but still quiet at night, very comfortable beds and bedsheets, great breakfast selection.
Free coffee in the lobby, pool table, hot tub and sauna outside. Heating very strong and immediate warmth in the room after switching on.
Bus groups hotel stopover for the night, but not disturbing.
great location at the lake Myvatn, very comfy and quiet rooms with floor heating, great restaurant with delicious dishes (dill cured arctic char, beef burger, lamb shank) and nice beer/alcohol selection, cow farm where you can pet the cows and see the farmers milking them through the windows.
great host! he gave us a lot of tips about Mivatn zone. we had the opportunity to use the kitchen and the laundry machine. Furthermore the host bakes very good cakes and bread ;)
The lodge is great, all surrounded by nature, very quiet and peaceful
