The quiet and cozy house have us get far away from everything, plus the fried salmon in the convenient store just nearby is the best salmon i ever have.
We spent 3 days in Melar Guesthouse and had such a great time. The location is very unique, with lots of little carefully selected details and decoration. The host is so s^nice, giving lots of information and stories, while always respecting privacy.
To relax in the whirl pool after a day full of excoursions was so nice.
The aesthetics choices-clean lines, natural materials, the usage of space and view..the ocean view hot tub , the private beach, and the host that was warm and welcoming.. absolutely unforgettable experience.

We met these 2 coolest girls that work there during summer and they totally changed the experience! The horses around, beautiful nature and peace & quiet was just want we needed!
we had a small room with a double bed and own bathroom (shower and toilet), which was ok for two nights on our road trip. the guesthouse has also a kitchen and a hot tub to be used by everybody. the guesthouse is located next to a farmhouse (surrounded by „nothing“), and is close to asbirgy and dettifoss & selfoss, which was good for our choice. the owner was nice but not very communicative.
I like far places with dark skies, this is one of them. Great guest house, private bathroom, wide kitchen. Nice mountains and there is a crook nearby. Hope come back and stay more days. Staff was very helpful. Saw my first northern lights (a little bit of cloudy weather) there. They have laundry too.
The hosts invited for us to dinner which was very unexpected. We had a very long day, had to get rescued from Dettifoss and the host welcomed us to an evening meal. We hadn’t had a proper meal in two days and they catered for us specifically as we only eat Vegetarian food which was very kind of them.
