We have been travelling round Iceland for nine days. I can honestly say this was the worst experience. The chalet that we were putting in was attached to someone else you could feel every movement from their side and the wind was rocking the chalet. The photographs showed a television there was no TV no coffee facilities. The room was so basic. The radiator was either on or off so you either roasted or you froze the room seriously needed updating. I came away from there feeling quite itchy.

Nice and homely guesthouse in beautiful scenery, the best location to watch everything on south-eastern part of Iceland (Diamond Beach, Vatnajökull National Park, Vestrahorn etc.). Staff - Thora and her husband - is really-really friendly and helpful and they make amazing breakfast. Shared bathrooms are clean, and there is a kitchen for the staff but they let you use the microwave and the cutlery; there is a shared fridge too. You have a sink in your room.
Vagnsstadir Guesthouse offers accommodation in Borgarhöfn. Free WiFi is featured throughout the property. The guesthouse has pet horses living on site. Jökulsárlón is just a 20-minute drive away.

Was easy to get to, very clean. A microwave in the hall was handy, we used it to heat up soup. Was able to book it just that afternoon for that night as we decided last minute we had to see Diamond Beach and would not have time to drive there & back to where we originally intended staying. The beds were really comfortable and it was lovely & quiet. No television.
Captured a slight aurora on camera out of the window of the room we stayed in. All in all good value.

Very quiet, just 2 appartments occupied. Very nice hosts. Breakfast ok (4 guests only, maybe different in summer). Restaurant closed at this time of the year. We already booked 2 nights in summer 2025.

Great location to explore the nearby glacier lakes, beautiful, clean new room with comfortable beds and great view over the valley. Communication with the guesthouse was great.

We booked Gerdi Guesthouse primarily for its location close to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The rooms were spacious and clean although our booking for 2 bungalows was delivered as two rooms in the main building. We did not see inside the bungalows to compare. The main building did have a nice common room for guests to use. We had a good dinner and breakfast at the attached restaurant but chose other cheaper options for subsequent meals.
