Good value for the price. Dinner was excellent! Our room was nice with a small deck with a pretty view back a the mountains and put to the sea.

We happened to be lucky and were alone, and the staff was very nice, it was a very comfy place overall and would definitely go again if I am back in Olafsvik.

Exceptional place - we stayed here for the second time. It’s our favorite accommodation in Iceland! Excellent value for money, the kitchen has everything you need, squeaky clean bathrooms, very cozy warm rooms. Inga and Oli are really nice and responsive, they helped us fix an issue with our car. Couldn’t ask for more! We’ll definitely stay again in a future visit.

Nice cosy place run by a Friendly host with his wife. The room are clean and very near to the Kirkjufell. The best thing the host offer to change our room to a better one after a no show from another guest. Nice gesture of them. 😁. And we have 2 hours of aurora sightings just in front of the hotel too. Grundarfjördur Hostel is just a short five-minute drive away several restaurants, including one where we stopped called Kaffi 59, and Kirkjufellsfoss, one of the highlights of Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The shared living area and kitchen were spacious, with plenty of light, a refrigerator, and cooking facilities. Everything was clean and it was quiet at night even though there were other guests in the house.
It was in a great location, quiet yet with a awesome view of kirkjufell. The host was waiting for us to arrive and get us settled. Communal kitchen needed some workaround but I guess it’s not a big issue as long as we took turns
