Thora and Bjarni run a very cozy, clean, and charming guesthouse. Breakfast is served in time slots and Thora is very attentive. She went above and beyond to accommodate my pregnant wife’s dietary needs, which was incredibly kind. Bjarni also met us at the door to help us check in after arriving slightly late, which was a very kind gesture.
It’s also in a beautiful location just a short drive from Diamond Beach and the glacier, nestled next to an old church with views of the sea (maybe a kilometer away) below. Very serene views. There’s a neat historical quality to the guesthouse as well. It’s in a building that used to be affiliated with the church and has an authentic feel to it.

The view out the widow and off the deck were great. The room was decorated very nicely. It was contactless check in. Shower was nice. I would definitely rent this place again.

We booked Gerdi Guesthouse primarily for its location close to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The rooms were spacious and clean although our booking for 2 bungalows was delivered as two rooms in the main building. We did not see inside the bungalows to compare. The main building did have a nice common room for guests to use. We had a good dinner and breakfast at the attached restaurant but chose other cheaper options for subsequent meals.

The house is nice with a large living area and kitchen and large rooms with shared toilets. Beds were ok and the rooms are generally quiet. The guesthouse is not on the main road so it's quiet.
