Beautifully decorated, tastefully appointed, comfortable and quiet, The Elms was a total respite. Small (just 5 rooms) but with everything you need. Amal, the manager, was pleasant, thoughtful, helpful and resourceful willing to help us plan our day, help with transport or even order food to be delivered to us.
The location was central but on a quieter street. Near tiger preserve booking office and lots of restaurants and shops.
I recommend upgrading to a room with a balcony on second floor so you are not on the ground floor with reception and central seating lounge.

Nice ambience and friendly treatment.
One of the best choice for those who are looking for home stay
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Great host and room, only the room on the top floor has a terrace, please take note of it. It is on the main road and easily accessible and parking is available.
The hosts were so generous and kind. The cooking was incredible and they always greeted me with a smile. The room was massive - they upgraded me for free. And it was so so so clean. The bathroom was perfect. Great location, 15 minute walk to the tourism information centre and 20 to the bus stop where you are required to meet. Just perfect, can’t thank them enough :)
Lawrence, the guest house owner and his wife were incredible hosts ! They all took great care of us, from planning our trip to driving us around avoiding us to pay to many tuktuks. The room was big and very clean. We loved our stay !
Konark homestay has a great location hosted by a lovely family who are always present to help you and talk about beautiful possibilities present in thekkady.
We were lucky enough to witness Bison and Sambhar deer right from the balcony of our room.
Lizzy and Antony were great hosts to us! We had an amazing cuisine and cultural experience in Thekkady, thanks to them! They helped us with securing tickets to kathakali, local martial art show, tea plantation & spice tour, and Kerala Ayurvedic massage. The house is beautiful and is located amidst cardamom plantations. The rooms are large with comfortable beds and balcony overlooking the plantations. We will definitely come back! Thank you!
The host of the guesthouse was just amazing !! He is really helpfull and so nice.
The rooms are big and very clean. The location is amazing, close to the center, but in a quiet area with a beautiful view.
Best guesthouse we stayed in india so far.
Homely guesthouse, comfortable room with my own little terrace overlooking the water. It's very quiet. There is a little path in front of the house where you can go for a stroll along the water. The hosts are very nice! I felt like a part of the family (family owned guest house). I was served delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner, tea and coffee during the day. The family's son took me on a boat tour through the backwaters - the big and tiny jungle-like canals. I really enjoyed my time and would back anytime!!
