The location is truly out in the country. The views are fantastic and the accommodations were very spacious and cozy. Karin and Stuart are incredibly helpful and gracious hosts! We had great conversations and the breakfast was one of the best meals we had on our entire trip!

Fiona is a terrific host! She made us feel right at home in her lovely little suite. Although she makes it clear she doesn’t do breakfasts, she is more than generous - we found bread, milk, butter, jams, coffee, tea, cereal and biscuits in the room. We made the suggestion that a small table would be a good addition (the outdoor table and chairs are not always an option in Ireland!) and she ordered one right away! It didn’t come in time for us, but I expect it will be there for her next guests. Now that’s what I call a responsive host! There’s a toaster and kettle, but no microwave. The bathroom sink is where you wash dishes. Tragumna is a little gem of a community and we enjoyed an excellent meal in the pub. There’s a swimming spot just at the foot of the lane. This stretch of coast is not so touristy as Kerry, Dingle or Galway and yet just as lovely. Mizen Head and Barley Cove make an excellent day trip, and even closer is Lough Hyne with warm swimming and a wonderful hike up Knockomagh Hill for great views. Walks or drives in either direction from Tragumna’s lovely beach will bring you to more beautiful coastal scenery. We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer and explored more. Lidl at Skibbereen is a short drive for supplies.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
It was a lovely 10 minute stroll outside the town. The house was down a lovely lane, and was quiet and warm with a fabulous friendly host. My room was big, with a huge bed, and I got fresh still and sparking water every day, plus a jug of fresh milk for my morning coffee. I also sat outside on their lovely patio one evening with a pizza. Id definitely recommend it.
A wonderful and quiet place. The host is super friendly, with excellent service and very nice to talk to. We had a really nice evening and delicious breakfast.
The private space was fabulous, lovely personal art pieces on display, and extremely spacious. The breakfast was quite unbelievable, I honestly don't think I have ever had such a wonderful breakfast outside of my own home, certainly not in any hotel I have ever stayed at. Our host was charming and could not of been more helpful with local knowledge etc.
Location is remote, quiet and brings you close as you can get to beautiful, wild, natural scenery.
The owners/hosts are very friendly, kind and helpful but also give you space and privacy.
Very limited ferry times constrain access to the island (could be a good or bad thing depending on your point of view).
The cottage is adorable and really cozy and comfy. Stephanie is a great host who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable even though we were having some issues with our car. The location is great. In a very quiet area but also very close to Schull.
Spacious quiet and picturesque. The host also provided a TV to me use for the duration of my stay
