This is a perfect place to get away and unplug, enjoy the quiet and incredible scenery. All the while you’re being taken care of by the nicest woman alive. Margaret was an amazing host and even sent us on our way with a lovely soda bread snack for the rest of our drive. The room had a very comfortable bed, amazing view out to the water, and we slept so very well. Would stay again and would recommend!

Dun Ri Guesthouse, hotel in Ballyconneely

In a quiet corner of Clifden, this quiet haven of rich comfort and classic Irish hospitality is just 93 steps from the vibrant buzz of the center of Clifden.

Beautiful rooms and the best breakfast we had out of all of our B&Bs across the coast. We reserved a room last minute after staying at a cheaper accommodation in town and extremely happy we made the switch to Dun Ri.

Buttermilk Lodge Guest Accommodation, hotel in Ballyconneely

Buttermilk Lodge is 5 minutes' walk from Clifden town center, so you can just park your car and easily walk to town.

We had an apartment with a separate sitting room for lounging and great kitchen. There was a great array of kitchen utensils, pans, electric pots. We loved the fact that there was a clothes washer/dryer combo. Refrigerator and stovetop, microwaves were very nice There was an electric fireplace that gave us some ambience and heated the room to take the chill off.

What we liked - the location near huge empty beaches, retention of old-style cottage feel while also being clean and well-equipped, good wifi, friendly hosts, comfortable beds, loads of books and games. This is a perfect house if you want to get away from it all and walk for miles in the wild and feel the wind in your hair and have a refreshing cold dip in the clearest water you've ever seen. Then, refreshed, enjoy seafood and Guinness in Clifden!
