Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
A great homestay with a very friendly and welcoming family. We had two rooms with a shared bathroom, all next to the living room that was quiet and comfy to sit. Bedrooms were not spacious but good, beds were slighty soft but we did sleep very well. Nice breakfast. Homestay is located close to the city centre, in a quiet minor street.
An absolute highlight of our four week trip in Indonesia. We had dinner at the guest house both evenings and felt like part of the family. Our hosts were wonderful, really helpful with transport and tours, cooked us wonderful meals both nights. On top of that rooms were immaculately clean, and the breakfast view is unbeatable. If you visit Ruteng, Kopa Family Guest Home is an absolute must!
We stayed 2 nights in Wisma Po'ong and we loved it ! The room is clean and quiet big, the place is very peaceful, outside of city center. But the best about Wisma Po'ong is the hosts ! Carolina and Peter made us feel at home all our stay long, they helped us renting a scooter, picked us up at the bus station, invited us to a very cool open mic outdoor concert... We really enjoyed Ruteng and its good vibes. We warmly recomend to stay in this homestay, hold by wonderful people !
Everything was great, super host, delicious and big breakfast. Very well located in Ruteng, and far from the main street so it was very quiet. We recommend 100%
We really enjoyed our stay! Jeff and his family are great hosts and give you the opportunity to get to know the local culture! The rooms are comfortable and clean
Great host, shared a lot about the community and local way of life. Very comfortable stay, no aircon but it is high enough so it's chilly at night (i.e., you don't need the ac). clean showers and toilets. Great vegetarian breakfast and dinner, local style (do ask for sambal). Do the rice-field trekking, may be a little bit gimmicky from some people, but it's fun and you get to see how the local live!
The hostess had the best English we saw in Flores and she welcomed us very friendly. The morning breakfast view from the garden to the mountains is breathtaking. The bed was comfy with a mosquito net included. The room was also very clean. The guesthouse also rented us their own motorbike so that we can go to the Hobit cave and Spider rice field. This was very convenient given the fact that the guesthouse is not in the center and close to any other services. We would stay in this guesthouse again.
