It was a family friendly place, a small hamlet at the end of a narrow winding road. The views from our room and balcony were fabulous. The tiny harbor was a safe and fun place full of children swimming and playing in the warm and crystal clear water. The restaurant was the loveliest outdoor space shaded by a lush ceiling of vines. We were grateful the Villa had a small restaurant for guests as the road was a bit intimidating for us in the dark. Though we did venture out for some outstanding food and exploration. The location is convenient to the national park and the ferry in Pomena where we picked up a rental car.

Mljet Island is breathtakingly beautiful! Our memories of staying at Pomena Guest House were influenced by the natural beauty of the island. We traveled late in the season, so the island was nearly deserted—a huge plus for us! However, many restaurants, bike rentals and the only grocery store in town were already closed. Even so, our time on Mljet was the highlight of our Croatian holiday.
The guest house owner was friendly, though his English was limited, which made it a bit difficult to get practical advice. The apartment itself was well-equipped, with everything we needed, and the view over the sea was stunning. We loved watching the sunsets and the morning colors of sunrise right from our window. Plus, it was just a 10-minute walk to the Small Lake, which made exploring easy.

On the quiet island of Mljet, just 5 min walk from the center of the little port town of Polace you will find this small, unassuming guest house. It was simple and relaxing. The hostess lives in the apartment above, and was there when we arrived to show us the place. She is very friendly, helpful and a pleasure to speak with. The rooms are simple, but have everything you need with a nice bathroom. The whole town is quiet, and we didn't hear any noise from the neighboring rooms or from upstairs. There is a large shared balcony overlooking the peaceful cove of Polace. Our neighbors were a lovely couple from England and we could all enjoy the balcony and the sunset. It was an easy walk into Polace which has many restaurants, convenient stores, and tourist activities. The cove is quiet with several yachts and boats mooring overnight to add to its beauty. We appreciated the beach towels and the clothesline to dry our beach togs.

Lovely little apartment, with a great balcony and comfy bed. Ropa is a sweet village with a charming beach and the most spectacular stars at night! Marijana and her family are so welcoming. We would definitely come back again!

We fell in love with the whole island and the days we spent there were a dream. A good place to stay and explore Mljet. Very close to the natural park. Short ride to the next town where you can have some lunch/dinner or go to the supermarket.

Great location, whole island of Mljet is wonderful place, with beatiful beaches, nature and it is not crowded. I choose to visit Mljet due to the dark skies it has, so that I can observer with telescope, and sky darkness met my expectations. I'm thinking about visiting again to enjoy dark skies again.
We had a friendly talk on the first day with hosts who explained all the possibilities the island offers and gave ussome contacts for a restaurant with domestic food and fish seller, etc. There was a surprise waiting for us in a form of refreshment in the fridge:-).
Ropa location has a stunning beach which is very quiet and very close to rooms ‘Korina & Mauro Mljet’. The apartment room was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Above all, the family & host at the property are wonderful, admirable people willing to assist their customers to ensure they have the best stay possible on Mljet. We can’t thank them enough for the fantastic stay and the wonderful advice they provided us during our time in Ropa. Kayla and Matt are happy to have met them!
Hosts were wonderful - kind and professional! The location is great, lot's of green around, a nice bay is within walking distance and it is quiet so that you can fully enjoy your holidays!
