A good place to stay, though the rooms are located above a tavern, so it can be noisy until 11 PM, but quiet after that. The room is small but comfortable, with separate beds that can be pushed together. There’s a microwave and a kettle available. You need to get the key from the bartender, and the entrance is from the roadside. Plenty of parking spots nearby, and the people are friendly. Overall, good value for a short stay.

Host robert actually made me tea. Gave me a map and directions to a grocer. Convenient to the rail station and within half mile of several bus lines headed into town. Has American washer and drier which meant all my clothes were finally dry. Huge comfy bed. Sink in room. Full kitchen so I did several of my own meals.

This was one of the best places we stayed in Scotland, mostly due to the welcoming host and the many toys we found for our son in the shared lounge. Scott the host gave us a lot of tips for dinner, however we ended up ordering in due to the aforementioned toys. We were able to eat in the lounge which was great. We also got tips on where and what to order for takeout. Comfortable beds, quiet location, nice breakfast. Highly recommended!
Great host and a great place. Fabulous homecooked options for everybody who likes the Scottish breakfast as well as lighter options for those who aren't such big eters in the morning.
This was my fourth stay on route back from completing the north coast nc 500 and i have to say the best.... Overall very pleasant stay, great host and lovely room ,bedding and very comfortable bed and best nights sleep for a while . Even the biscuits in the room were top quality 👌
