Greencourt Loft - The Cotswold Way, Stroud, hotel in Stonehouse

Boasting river views, Greencourt Loft - The Cotswold Way, Stroud features accommodation with a balcony, around 22 km from Kingsholm Stadium.

Such a cosy, comfortable place to stay. It had all the essentials that we needed for the night. The area is stunning, we were only staying one evening so managed a little walk around, it’s a beautiful place and very quiet. Our host was really friendly and had even gotten us some milk, bread, cakes and jam which was lovely.

Both of the owners were lovely, friendly and accommodating. Was able to check in at my lunch hr which made things easier. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, perfect scrambled eggs and they even very kindly let me borrow an umbrella when the sunshine suddenly vanished in the morning. I have rebooked to stop here 2 more times in the coming months when down for work.

Woodmill Farm Apartment, hotel in Stonehouse

Woodmill Farm Apartment is a self contained suite set in Aylburton in the Gloucestershire Region and is 40 km from Bath.

Woodmill Farm is a converted Millhouse, with lots of potential character and authenticity, however as an apartment for 4 adults, it’s somewhat small and pokey, with a sofa, fold down table and two dinning chairs all being in the double bedroom. The 2nd bedroom had 2x single beds, one of which is a bed that slides under the other for storage, so somewhat reminiscent of childhood sleepovers and therefore most likely rather uncomfortable for an adult to sleep on. As a full rental for 6 people, the door to the stairs is unlocked and the buildings’ true character is more apparent, with an additional double bedroom and a kitchen/dinning/lounge area, all being within the old wooded eves of the building. The kitchen area is well quipped, but unfortunately the cooker stopped working halfway through cooking our meal.

What an incredible find. This loft suited us perfectly after a long day walking on the Cotswolds Way. We were greeted by the host Sara who was charming and it was such a warm welcome. She had supplied enough treats and staples to keep us going through to breakfast and recommended a local company to deliver our evening meal. The loft was beautifully set out with lovely small touches. One night was not enough!
