The rooms were located within easy walking distance of the High Street and the bus station with connections all over the island . The room was large, comfortable and with character. The Manager kept in touch before we arrived to ensure a smooth check in. The breakfasts and dinners we had in the restaurant were outstanding. Staff were all friendly and accommodating, giving us helpful information to navigate the Isle.

The cleanliness and accessibility to everything that's essential. Located just off the pier and high-street, this stay was perfect in terms of accessibility. The main bus station is right around the corner too. Best part was the vast view of the sea from the house and one can access the large park situated beside the shore from across the house.

Our stay at Denewood Hotel in Sandown was nothing short of delightful. We were fortunate to have a lovely room on the ground floor, which was both cosy and tastefully decorated, making it feel like a home away from home. The attention to detail in the room’s design added a charming and comfortable ambiance that was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast, which was included in our booking. The hotel offers a great selection from their breakfast menu, catering to various tastes. I was particularly impressed with their flexibility in accommodating special requests. I prefer tinned peeled plum tomatoes over the usual grilled tomatoes, and they were happy to make that change for me. The breakfast itself was hearty and satisfying, setting us up perfectly for the day ahead.
Prior to our arrival, Sara was wonderful to communicate with. She was easy to get hold of and happy to answer any questions we had, which made our check-in process smooth and stress-free. Upon arriving at the hotel, both Sara and Kevin were incredibly welcoming, immediately making us feel at home.
Kevin, was an absolute pleasure to talk to. He was incredibly friendly and offered us fantastic tips on places to visit around the island, as well as insightful information that enriched our experience. His local knowledge really enhanced our trip, and his warm demeanor made us feel very welcome.
Overall, our experience at Denewood Hotel was wonderful. From the cosy, well-decorated room to the delicious and accommodating breakfast, and the exceptional hospitality from Sara and Kevin, it was a stay to remember. I would highly recommend Denewood Hotel to anyone visiting Sandown - I will definitely be back!!
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travelers who prefer laid-back accommodations with a personal touch. Usually family run, these hosts will provide local recommendations and even optional meals. Guest houses sometimes feature a cozy living room or a garden – and are still cheaper than most regular hotels.
Lovely staff, great location, and incredibly quiet. Breakfast was served incredibly quickly, and it's finally nice to see hashbrowns cooked properly rather than fried to no end.
Christine was a great host and always available if you needed her. The location was great for us using the trains and buses to view the island. Plenty of food shops in Ryde so we could cook for ourselves too. We made use of the lovely garden most evenings.
Great location, lovely building, very friendly welcome & staff, biggest single room I've ever stayed in, comfy bed, quiet night's sleep, tasty breakfast & a very charming cat a few doors down
The apartment is in a great location- just a 10 minute walk from Ryde Pier. The road the apartment is located on is quiet and only a couple of minutes from the seafront and sandy beaches.
The apartment was very clean and Nick, the host, provides all bedding, towels, some toiletries, kitchen cleaning products and even a few coffee pods to get you started - fab.
We particularly enjoyed the garden which catches the sun all day and was great to enjoy our breakfast and evening G&T.
I would recommend this apartment.
