I was a little nervous as I was a solo traveller, but i can honestly say i needed to have been. Check-in was so easy, and i fejt very safe. The room had everything you could need for an overnight stay, even had a microwave! The host had left bottled water in the fridge, which was a lovely touch after a night out. The bed was the best I think I've ever slept in. Very clean and cosy. and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and recommend.

You will be well looked after at Hylands with its clean, comfortable accommodation and warm, friendly atmosphere. Bus and train links to the city centre are close to the guest house.

Pleasant staff, excellent choice for breakfast. Location suited us for a night out. Staff opened up a separate gate to allow us to move car in morning as difficult car park.

Everything is modern looking and spotlessly clean. Bed was very comfortable. Loved the idea of the kitchen/lounge area although we didn't use it on this occasion. Location is excellent, right in the centre of the town and within easy walking distance of local amenities. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Great location for me. Convenient for seeing friends in Ilkeston, Stanton by Dale etc.. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Good sized room. Bed was comfortable. Space for dog plus treats. Amazing grounds for dog walking. Quiet. Reasonable price. Decent dog friendly pub in 5 mins walk and lots of footpaths. I came by car but the hotel is on a main road with an excellent bus service. I will stay again. As a lone traveller this is an excellent place. Everyone I met was wonderful.

Beautiful characterful property. Very charming, quiet and comfortable. The bedroom was larger than my lounge at home and had everything we needed, even a fan which was very welcome and very quiet. Lovely well lit outdoor seated area, perfect for summer nights. We were very well looked after by all staff. Didn’t use bar and restaurant due to it being Sunday night, but the breakfast was incredible. Great choice of options available. Unbelievable price for bed and breakfast in a great room with the bonus of dog friendly.
