Luxury superking OR standard OR budget rooms, hotel in Newhaven

Luxury superking OR standard OR budget rooms is located in Newhaven, 14 km from Brighton Marina, 15 km from Glyndebourne Opera House, as well as 16 km from Brighton Pier.

We booked this accommodation in Newhaven at the very last minute because the late arrival of our ferry precluded us from taking up our booked accommodation further away. Despite our arrival, very stressed and after the official check in time of 10pm, our host Nicky was very calm and welcoming, confirming the free parking outside and showing us to our rooms. Having faced the possibility of having nowhere to sleep it was a relief to enjoy her warm welcome, the spotlessly clean and well furnished bedrooms and the equally clean,, as-new, shared bathroom. The street was quiet and we all slept very well on the comfortable beds. Next morning Nicky advised us of a very good cafe on the waterfront a short distance away, where we had breakfast before heading home.

The Nook at Blue Door Barns, hotel in Beddingham

Located in Beddingham, in a historic building, 4.9 km from Glyndebourne Opera House, The Nook at Blue Door Barns is a guest house with a garden and shared lounge.

Self check in was great - queuing at a reception desk when you've had a long drive is tiresome. Breakfast on both days was generous and beautifully cooked - Emma even cooked me a poached egg as I'm not a fan of other kinds (sorry Emma). We were lucky with the weather - cool but sunny - and eating breakfast under the pergola really felt like being on holiday. There was a cute little dining area in our cabin had the weather not been so kind. The bed linen felt luxurious, was spotless and we slept like logs. Plenty of rugs were provided had we wished to sit outside in the evening. I was over excited by the Nespresso machine for which limitless pods were supplied. Small touches like the fresh milk (no fiddly capsules) and bottled water in our fridge were appreciated too. We followed Bryony and Emma's advice and ate at the Ram Inn nearby on our first night and it couldn't have been better so read the guest book in your cabin for advice and tips.

We really like the space and especially the hosts. At first, I was a little anxious as I didn't realise we would be staying in their home. However, within a few minutes of meeting the host Kam, my anxiety subsided as he made us feel very welcome and the space still allows for privacy. There were facilities for us to make hot drinks, a spacious bed and space to hang clothes. I would definitely recommend this for couples visiting Brighton for a relaxed break.

The pictures do not do this lodge justice. It's a lovely lodge with quirky features and a shabby chic feel. We loved the beautiful bathroom products, thank you!

CNN House, hotel in Peacehaven

Offering a garden and quiet street view, CNN House is situated in Peacehaven, 11 km from Brighton Pier and 12 km from Victoria Gardens.

Very simple room and little expense for just a bog standard room. We didn’t want anything special as only staying for the night so this was perfect. Shower looked clean. Easy transport into city centre and short walk to the bus stop. We went end of November but room didn’t feel cold. Had Wi-Fi too. Lots of parking on side streets.

The room was clean, very clean. White and topnotch clean, from top to floor. The bed and bedspreads were clean. The bathroom has a well functional shower head. The toilet was neat. There are mirrors at all corners. It was quiet and peaceful. A calming space. Was received well by host's son, then was given a quick tour of the facilities to my room. The displayed picture was same as the space I used. Sincerely, my expectations were exceeded and I heartily appreciate them. 👍👍👍👍👍

We went to visit Brighton and decided to stay at Newhaven away from the touristy area. We wanted to spend the night in a small quiet place by the sea. The room was very cozy , comfortable and clean, with harbour view. Host was very friendly. She also recommended a breakfast place nearby, the food was delicious and surprisingly cheaper .

Great host, fantastic accommodation. Comfy beds, superb ensuite with a separate tv room. Quiet and pleasant. Be a good overnighter whilst waiting for the boats etc and also close enough by train, bus or taxi if you fancy a night out in Brighton.

This guest house has rooms so we'll done, we can't fault them, the hosts are amazing and attend to every need, going way beyond the normal standard. Insanely cheap rates on non peak days on a holiday month, rather stay at friendly house newhaven than the likes of the metropole etc. Recommended to all.

Great location for the port in a quiet area. The host is lovely and did everything to make my stay comfortable. I put a picnic for my ongoing journey in the fridge and freezer packs in the freezer, she even had vegan milk for coffee! Very clean and nicely decorated. Do stay here if you can.
